Cleveland. Feel mah pain.
The amnesty crowd is hawking a new fable — that a massive margin among Hispanics saved Harry Reid:

Longtime immigration advocate Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) credited Hispanics Wednesday for keeping Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) in the Senate.

“Latino citizens responded to Majority Leader Harry Reid’s aggressive pursuit of immigration reform by voting for him in overwhelming numbers,” he said in a statement. “They were clearly the difference in his victory.”

Latinos made up 12 percent of Nevada voters, with 90 percent of them supporting Reid. Angle got only an 8 percent sliver of their support, according to a Latino Decisions poll.

The implication is that these numbers come from a “Latino Decisions” exit poll — an implication the authors of the poll are not in a hurry to dispel. Ben Smith at Politico, as just one example, was taken in: “Reid got an amazing 90% of the state’s 12% Hispanic voters, according to exit polls; Sharron Angle got just 8%.”

Except that the Latino Decisions poll wasn’t an exit poll — rather, it was an “election eve” poll, conducted before Election Day, just like all the other polling that has been going on for months. The actual exit poll, over at CNN, shows Angle getting a normal Republican share of the Hispanic vote, 30 percent.

Does that mean 70% of Hispanics voted Republican?

Mebbe it is past time to stop assuming every Hispanic American supports Amnesty.

Your thoughts?

Wanna bet?

I heard 90% of the Hispanics that voted, voted for him. I could be wrong, but why would they vote for Angle.

Do any of you actually READ what you post or what is posted you are responding to? Madeline your quote CLEARLY states that the exit polls gave her 30 percent of the Hispanic vote. Leaving the other 70 for Democrat or independent.

Luissa did you bother to even just read what she quoted? The 90 percent number was from a PRE ELECTION poll. The actual exit poll numbers show that 30 percent of Hispanics that voted in the precincts that were polled voted Republican.

GOP support went up 4 percentage points according to Pew.

But this is even better news:

Tuesday's midterm elections were historic for Hispanics. For the first time ever, three Latino candidates -- all of them Republicans -- won top statewide offices. In New Mexico, voters elected the nation's first Latina governor, Republican Susana Martinez. In Nevada, Republican Brian Sandoval won the governor's race and became Nevada's first Hispanic governor. And in Florida, Republican Marco Rubio won the U.S. Senate race.1

Hispanics as a rule are more conservative than liberal - therefore the theory that they always vote democratic is a myth.

Because he promised the illegals more than he's willing to give Americans. The Dream Act. Too bad it's for illegals and not for Americans.

Maybe they read it. Maybe not.

But they sure didn't comprehend it.

And it was very CLEAR

O good grief! You are right, RGS!

The mistake so many make is to assume that any Hispanic is an "automatic Democrat". If you are of any ethnic background and had come to believe the GOP had a better plan for resolving the economy, why would you be a single-issue voter in this election?

Nevermind that Amnesty is not supported by all Hispanics (a "group" that lacks any adhesion and is prolly the most contentious on Planet Earth.)

Profound.

I would say that people from third world countries are socialists. If not, why do they keep voting presidents aka dictators who are socialists???? The mystery is that when they migrate to the USA, for whatever reason, they want this country to be transformed into a socialistic system 100%. I would venture to say that is why they vote mostly for the dems.

Which Hispanics? Cuban hispanics vote Republican because they hate Castro as much as the Republicans do.

They don't have to transform the nation into a socialist nation. We already are socialist

Socialist roads, electrical grid, water supply, health care (Medicare), retirement system (SS), weather tracking, banks, post office, and on and on...
