I've been seriously considering attending my 25th high school reunion. To date, I have not attended one. I have kept in contact with just one friend from high school, letting the others go on their way. Not thinking much about them or our high school years until recently. About a year ago I started friending old friends from high school on Facebook. It's been fun reuniting and sharing old photos and such. I haven't received the official invitation in the mail, but I did reply ( on the high school page on FB ) that yes, my husband and I will be attending. I've even booked a room at the hotel where the reunion is being held.

But today I find myself having second thoughts.
It's taking place the day after Thanksgiving, so I have plenty of time to decide.

I had a strong dislike for high school. Especially when it came to the 'cliques'.

I love 'em. It's a great blast from the past.

Our last reunion was maybe 10 years ago. I made sure to smooch all the gals I had crushes on (upon whom I had crushes). At this age, it's a harmless joke and loads of fun.

I sat next to Ms. Snooty at dinner and even though I'd been through grade school/high school with her, we spoke more in one hour than we had in 12 years of classes. She married a high-roller, and was wearing a mega-carat tennis braclet. I looked at it and said "gee, Suzi - it's amazing how much cubic zirconia looks like real diamonds!".

Then I said "hey wanna see something really different?" I took off my shoe and sock then threw my foot up on the dinner table - my 3 year old daughter had painted my toenails. LOL it was a riot.

    Good for you Mr. H!

I've been thinking about telling anyone who asks what I've been doing with my life, that I spend my days online forum hopping and searching my favorite porn sites. At night I work part-time as a hooker and I've dabbled in some drugs.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm holding out for my 50th.

I'm hoping that by that time, I'll have finally let go of some of my anger with some of my HS classmates.

Having a HS reunion for me would be an expensive chore. I graduated for Taipei American School.

In the mid 90's I managed a 6th grade reunion for our teacher when she retired. It was a hoot playing Jr. detective and tracking down old classmates and we had about 15 people actually show up at the event.

We still keep in touch from time to time and people don't seem to have changed that much

It is strange that regardless of what you accomplished in life, your status at the reunion will revert to what it was in High School

The Head Cheerleader and Captain of the Football team will still treat you like crap

I hated high school, i hated the other students, i hated the teachers. It was ALL so far beneath me it was beyond a joke.

I have never gone to a HS reunion, and never plan to attend one...that is if they can find me! The way i look at it is that if i didn't want to have a damn thing to do with any of the people then, i sure as hell don't want anything to do with them now. I was not interested enough in them to keep up with their lives then, i sure am not interested now. I never wanted to share my life with any of them and i sure as hell don't want them in mine now.

Are they worth $1000+? Think about it. You know you're going to get all dressed up top to bottom along with the cost of the event.
