High gas prices...

Gas prices are out of sight... and there is nobody to blame for it except ourselves. It isn't OPEC's fault. It isn't the fault of the major oil companies. It's our fault as a nation. We have plenty of oil we could be drilling for and pumping out of the ground. Yet, we don't do it. We haven't built a refinery in this country for a good many years. Instead, we allow the environmental crazies and the politicians who court their favor to determine how much a gallon of gas cost us in this nation. We give other countries money and beg them to sell us the oil we help them build oil fields for to produce it. We whine to OPEC every time they slack up their production. We bitch and moan because oil companies are making huge profits selling a product they are in business for to sell. We do everything except to attack the problem in a responsible and reasonable way. I think it's about time we started doing something constructive about creating reasonable gas prices in this country. Time to stop harping about alternative energy and all of that other politically correct horse shit and begin to address the problem in a serious way. Sarah Palin said it correctly, "Drill baby, drill."

Thank goodness Reagan tore off the solar panels on the WH and killed Carter's energy plan.

The alternative energy freaks amaze me. We don't need to find another viable source of energy, especially when God gave America so much oil.

Palin’s wrong – again. Can’t drill our way out of this problem:

orry America, despite the promises of politicians, neither offshore drilling, nor a fraud investigation, nor an end to Big Oil's tax benefits will relieve gasoline prices any time soon, if at all.

Those are insignificant when you look at some of the causes of the price surge, such as Middle East turmoil and global economic recovery. The Great Recession and slow recovery gave the world a three-year reprieve from the broad trend that will inevitably sustain higher prices: emerging, gas-guzzling economies such as China and India vying for a limited supply of oil.

Neither the president nor Congress have much influence over these trends. The best thing to do, then, is for the country's leaders to change America’s fuel diet by encouraging less demand for oil through conservation and efficiency, and by supporting investment in nonoil fuels.

The op says it's not OPEC

Then says we "bitch" when OPEC cuts oil production

Then blames nameless faceless "environmetalist"

Then pretends that the laws of supply and demand doesn't apply to oil production

This is pure HORSE SHIT. The same, LAME line of CRAP the left rolls out every time DRILLING FOR OIL is mentioned. Well I'll tell ya what mister lefty, ALTERNATIVE ENERGY isn't going to help us out anytime soon EITHER! GOT THAT?

YES, DRILLING CAN GET US OUT OF THIS PINCH! Not tomorrow, not in one or two years. But we CAN drill ourselves into enough independence from FOREIGN oil that every time they think they're going to cut production to hurt America, we'll have enough of our OWN oil that they'll only be cutting their OWN THROAT.

WE - NEED - TO - DRILL.... NOW!!!!

The United States is the largest producer of natural gas in the world. Converting our vehicles to operate on natural gas makes sense to me. Think that might put a dent in the price of gasoline?
How did Brazil become energy independent? They developed natural resources and allowed only multi fueled vehicles in their country. That makes sense too.

The only problem with natural gas, is that it is very dirty and located next to many water sources, which fracking can contaminate.

I have no problem with some natural gas production. However, many of those who advocate it are shills and are not responsible about it.

For example, the 2005 Energy Bill, passed under the radar by Cheney, exempted natural gas and oil companies from the Clean Water Act and what did we end up with?

I can admit that natural gas does play a role in our energy needs, but I am skeptical of it. Natural gas proponents are not looking out for our best interests. Plus, natural gas is only a band aid to our problems.

Natural gas is not a viable source of energy. Plus, it needs to be regulated from contaminating drinking water and pollution. However, many on the right think that these regulations are amusable, to say the least.

Oil is priced in dollars. When the value of the dollar falls, oil prices rise. The U.S. policy of negative real rates is responsible for most of the increase here, as Obama et.al. try to inflate our way out of this recession.

Drill baby drill. Into Geithner's skull, that is.

What do they care - they got gov't. gas cards for their SUV's...

Senate blocks GOP bid to speed offshore drilling
5/18/2011 - Both parties say they support responsible drilling, but appear far apart on details
WASHINGTON — The Senate has rejected a GOP bid to speed up and expand offshore oil drilling in the face of $4-a-gallon gasoline prices. A procedural vote failed Wednesday, 57-42, on a GOP bid to speed decision-making on drilling permits and force the government to conduct previously scheduled lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico and off Virginia's coast. The sales were suspended after the BP oil spill.

The vote comes days after President Barack Obama directed his administration to ramp up U.S. oil production by extending existing leases in the Gulf and off Alaska's coast and holding more frequent lease sales in a federal petroleum reserve in Alaska.

Both parties say they want to allow responsible oil and gas drilling, but they appear far apart on details.

Yes, she did and do you remember how the demonRat bitches mocked and derided her for saying that? I do.

We need a sane energy policy. One where we, as in the people of the United States of America, drill for oil and natural gas, refine our own energy, dig for coal, produce nuclear power, wind power, hydroelectric power, solar power, wood power, or anything else we can use to produce energy.

If we did this, we could put our people to work, we could increase our economic output, and we wouldn't have to rely on the very unstable middle east, thus pull back our military and not get as involved with the rest of the world.

This is my energy policy. But unfortunately our politicians and a number of fellow Americans think that this is a bad idea for whatever reason. We should invest in Brazil's oil exploration but we cant do a darn thing here. Is that sane at all?!

We are causing our own problems here and we dont have to.

Get used to inflation....

You'll NEVER see $3.00 a gallon gas ever again.

Why?

Because oil is traded in (now) inflated US dollars on the international market.

Do people actually believe inflation will hit their supermarkets first????

Inflation will hit commodity trading first....

With everyone investing in gold - yeah, shits going to hit the fan.

BTW, Obama is an economic retarded.
