Only if they stop buying crap.
Americans have some of the worst food preparation methods in the world. And many of those bad habits require "half made meals".
Americans are outrageously lazy when it comes to cooking. Take spaghetti sauce, home-made sauce is very simple to make and taste way better. As well as make it like you like it. Now there is even "faster cooking pasta" only takes a couple minutes!! Really??? That 8-9 minutes is too unbearable??
And so people buy premade sauce full of sugar and sodium.
The list of examples like this would extend a football field.
Buy fresh, buy meats from a reputable butcher and you don't have to worry about corporate franken-food!

How about this. Municipalities should be allowed to tax food that is not produced within their land borders.

Or the government should stop passing legislation and regulations designed by Agri-businesses themselves to help their bottom line.

Just like everything else, as soon as government corruption enters a market, any market, everything goes to hell for average Americans....and whatever money was made in that market falls into fewer and fewer hands.

Buy fresh, buy meats from a reputable butcher and you don't have to worry about corporate franken-food!

Who has the time or money for that? My wife and I most assuredly don't. Fresh produce and meats cost more, go bad too quickly and require shopping more often. That's inefficient for us. It also requires more time to prep and cook.

Maybe you can afford to spend thst time and money. We can't.
