Hey Obama, JFK cut the top marginal tax rate to 70%

If we went back to the government as it was under JFK I'd support a similar tax code.

Now you sound like Ronald Reagan (and mani) -- living in the past

I'm not the one wishing for 1960 tax rates.
But if you're going to do that, do it all the way. Remember when interest on credit cards was tax deductible? When you could average your income over several years?
Bring that back.

LOL! Hilarious Shyte. JFK would be labelled an "Evil Fascist Nazi Republican" by today's Left Wing nutters who currently control the Democratic Party. Nice revisionist history attempt though. Only delusional Socialist/Progressive nutters buy it though.

small businesses don't get taxed with income taxes, their owners and employees do, and only at the top marginal rate if they make big dough.

so you are telling me the owner of an S class business. That keeps 6 Months of operating expenses in the bank and therefore shows 201,000 dollars in profit when over half of that is money set aside to cover any emergency. Is raking in the big dough?

please.

businesses used to use revolving credit lines to handle day to day expenses. Maybe not anymore.

There are surely ways to avoid being taxed on that money, but inventory can be taxed too as profit. All the same small businesses enjoy an outstanding tax niche. At least the owners do.

You're arguing for people saving less and going back to using credit?

You want someone to assassinate the president in Dallas? Is that what you want??

Do I look like a White Southern Baptist Conservative Republican who cheered on November 22, 1963?

Yes, as a matter of fact you do. But I don't recall his name. Maybe you can name one Republican who cheered Kennedy's assassination.

and I'm not talking about news reports that the right wing grasps a hold of. I'm talking about eye witness accounts of many Southerners I've know.

Just as some I know people saw and heard people cheering the attacks on 9/11, people I know (all southerners) saw and heard others cheering the news of President Kennedy's assassination.

Three years earlier, the first violent, hate-filled political mob of the Sixties had appeared in Dallas. It was not composed of scruffy young left-wing anti-Establishment "reds"; it was made up of "mature," neatly dressed "conservative" women of the Texas Establishment who wore red-white-and-blue.

Democratic vice presidential nominee Lyndon Johnson and his wife were making a stop in Dallas near the end of the 1960 campaign. Holding a sign reading "LBJ SOLD OUT TO YANKEE SOCIALISTS," Republican Congressman Bruce Alger of Dallas led a "mink coat mob" of ladies of the right, their faces filled with primal rage, as they encircled their own state's Senator and his wife, jeering and cursing and spitting in Lady Bird's face.

Oh. You PERSONALLY witnessed it. OK, yeah you're right. That really did happen. Glad you cleared that up.

I personally witnessed Obama eat a white baby.

And I saw Rahm Emmanuel taking suitcases of money from Hamid karzai.... It must be true because I saw it myself.

So let me get this straight. While the USA became an economic powerhouse from WWII until JFK, some of the wealthiest people in the world, the richest people in the USA, paid somewhere near and up to 70% in income taxes. To listen to conservatives and their way back when machine, during the 1950s up to the mid 1960's, the economy in the USA is considered a good time in America compared to the times afterward.

The way back when machine has nothing to do with taxes.

It is about going back to a time when the woman was in the kitchen, negros knew their place, and there were no gays.

"Make me a sammich, June."

"Certainly, Ward. Beev, would you like a sammich, too?"

"Gee Mom...that would be swell!"
