Hey Mitt..........Americans are not moochers!

RW, when you mention low wages, you hit the nail on the head. For over three decades wage earners have seen very little in wage growth that keeps up with inflation. Also, many of the newly created jobs are low paying jobs. Now who determines wages and wage growth? Would it be the same folks that ship jobs offshore?
With the demise of wages growth, of course fewer and fewer people become eligible to pay taxes per the convenient definition of taxpayers that the right loves to use (but it isn't accutate at all).
Where are the alleged job creators on this issue?

Many people in that 47% paid federal taxes for most of their lives. They used to have jobs that paid a competitive salary with benefits. They used to have disposable incomes and a piece of the American dream

They have since been dumped into the group of working Americans who struggle to support their families, who worry about their future and who no longer have an easy path ahead

And yes....It is the "Job Creators" who have dumped them into the 47% that Mitt Romney derides

No one promised you a rose garden. You have to create that for yourself. If you are one of those sitting back waiting for some job creator to provide you that great job, you are a fool, and a loser. No one owes you a damn thing, and no one is obligated to risk their capital just to provide you a good paying job.

You get paid exactly what you are worth to the person doing the paying. You think that you are worth more, go find someone who will pay you what you think you are worth. Good luck with that.

And 47% of Americans don't have a rose garden

These are the Americans that Romney derides as looking for a government handout

53% of Americans just found out that the other guy ain't payin'. :D
And of those 47%, I expect about half have either already done their "fair share" and retired or would rather have a job than Obama's table scraps.

You guys are screwed. Up 'til now, only political junkies like us really understood how many people are getting a check instead of writing one. The economy is in the crapper, you dudes are ADVERTISING food stamps, and we can pretty much ALL cite a couple of examples of real life "moochers". And the funniest part is that you've all been prancing around for the past week acting like you've got some sort of smoking gun. :lmao:

53% of Americans pay a higher effective tax rate than Mitt does

You liberal idiots feel like the government is giving us something in regards to tax cuts.

You are too stupid to realize it is our money to begin with. They are not giving us anything.

Bigger government means more tax dollars will be required to opreate it.

Wake up you big government liberal pukes!!

Hey stupid, Mitt pays a hell of a lot more taxes than you do.

As a matter of fact, he donates more money than you pay in taxes.

I'm willing to bet you pay $0.00 in federal income tax.

Is that all you got? 'Cause it's not much to go on now that your party has just informed America that the "Evil Rich" really ARE doing their "fair share". :eusa_clap:

Ya know, Mitt Romney is essentially a retiree as well. He's over 65 and no longer working at his given career. But still manages to given millions upon millions to charity, and not only has he given his money, he's given his time, even saved lives personally. The guy is practically a walking talking SAINT. Meanwhile back at the ranch... your candidate just climbed over his own ambassadors dead body in order to stump in Vegas and refused to meet Israel's prime minister in a time of crisis so he could do jokes on Letterman.

I think what Romney was trying to tell his fellow millionaires is that there is gentlemen type moocher and a riff-raff type. The thing that really seems to bug rich Republicans is that the riff-raff type do not know their station in life. I thought by now Republicans would have tied Romney's mouth shut.

He also hides a lot more income than I do

How much are you willing to bet?

Americans are not a nation of moochers and helpless dependents. Those who are not paying federal income tax would gladly do so, because it would mean they have a decent-paying job.GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney is right that 47% of Americans don't pay federal income tax. But he is wrong to suggest almost half of Americans pay no tax at all and feel entitled to live off government handouts.

Romney said: "There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. But that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax."

It's true that some Americans don't pay federal income tax. But virtually all Americans pay some form of tax, whether it's sales, payroll, state income, or property tax.

Rick McGaheyOver 60% of those who don't pay income tax are working; they pay payroll tax, which goes to support Social Security and Medicare. Another 22% of those who don't pay income tax are the elderly; most of them don't work.

In fact, only about 8% of Americans pay neither federal income tax nor payroll tax, because they are unemployed, are students, or are disabled.

Hey rightwinger, Please show us where Romney ever said that.

Mostly, it is the economy that has dumped them into the 47% that paid no federal income taxes. And, it is the dumbasses who voted for Obama who are mostly responsible for the bad economy. The same dumbasses who will vote for him again, and who will truely deserve what they gain from their vote.

Stupidity is the inability to learn. Those who have not learned from their original Obama vote, and who expect a different result when voting for him again, meet that definition.

No one, and that includes the Obama administration, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid, knows what the true costs of Obamacare will be, either to businesses, or to individuals. What we do know is that next year, after the election, hefty taxes are due to kick in on the Middle Class and the working class.

A small business woman, whose shop currently employees 46 workers, would like to hire a few more, but she is afraid that exceeding fifty employees or more would require her to hire a lawyer to figure out what obligations she would then have under Obamacare. She has an obligation, not only to herself, but to the 46 workers that she already has.

That, and the numerous other regulations that the administration are churning out, have all businesses scared. Failure to comply with one or more could cost millions in fines, and/or bankrupt the company.

Yes

We definitely need to raise taxes on the poor and cut taxes on the wealthy

Its only fair

Again, idiot... there never should have been anything in place where any person earning even $1 was exempt from federal income tax...

Fuck fair... embrace equality in treatment

I agree.

Everyone should have skin in the game.

No one should get a free ride.

Fair is fair.

I disagree. The income tax was sold to the American people on the concept that it would only apply to the high earners. That is what it should return to. The difference should be made up with a federal sales tax.

Not all Americans are moochers. Only those who believe that wealth should be redistributed. Of course, many think a big chunk of it should land in their hands, and it's money they didn't earn.

Social security, fair pensions and Medicare are the only true entitlements because people paid for those their entire adult lives. They are not moochers, just people who have every right to collect on their investment.

Then there are other government programs that keep cropping up to give people more, more, more, when they didn't pay a damn dime. Those are not entitlements. Being given enough money that one can purchase useless things with an EBT card and free phones are not entitlements and they aren't even charity. That is just politicians buying votes with tax payer money.

A person making 25K a year is barely getting by. Tax him/her $8250 and he/she has a take home of 16750.

Would never work.

We need to maintain a progressive tax based on income.....need to eliminate some of the write offs....and most of all....need to cut spending.

Wrong, I HATE The progressive income tax, it just leads to division and makes no sense, every dollar should be taxed the same. And if we wanted to raise taxes you cant blame the rich, you'd have to get eveyone onboard, and that why liberals like the progressive tax....they can pit groups against each other....

And my favorite solution would be to ditch the income tax completely and just make a national sales tax.

9-9-9 bullshit

The FAIR tax, I can agree with. Tax consumption, and not earnings. However, I would not mind leaving a 17% tax on all income over $1 million.

We would need a carefully worded constitutional amendment to preclude the crooked politicians from bringing in the sales tax, while keeping the income tax.

That is your spin, and not anywhere close to what Romney said. Forty seven percent of Americans do not pay income tax, mostly because of Republican policies and the Bush tax cuts. That is a fact, according to the IRS. They are not interested in Romney's ideas about cutting federal income taxes, because they don't pay any federal income tax. Is that difficult for you to comprehend, or are you just interested in a Democrat talking point?

In addition, about 47% of voters are either drawing welfare from the federal government, and/or believe that government should provide that welfare, whether deserving or not. They most likely will not vote for Romney because they believe that Obama is a surer thing for keeping the government teat flowing.

Romney accepts that 47% is solidly in Obama's camp, and his job is to compete for the six percent that is not solidly in either camp.

What the Democrat propaganda machine has done is mix and match the two concepts, and confuse the ignorant. Now that you are no longer ignorant, perhaps you will accept that you have been had by the DNC.
