Hey How Bout Those "Peaceful" Socialist/Progressive Protesters In Greece?...

They would rather burn their own cities down than have to work again. Sounds like our own Socialists/Progressives here no? Hmm?

It just depends.

Greece is collapsing. If you study the sociology of rioting and protest violence there are really two categories:

Violence that occurs during otherwise peaceful demonstrations that are egged on and provoked. (What's going on in Greece now).

Violence that occurs spontaneously in which people just run into the streets and just start burning random shit. (The MLK and Watts riots come to mind as well as the ones in Paris not to long ago).

In the second case usually this only occurs when the people feel as if they have no hope anyway. When they feel trapped, or feel as if their livelihood is useless and they have no hope for advancement. Even if this isn't a reality, it's a psychological danger, when you have a large segment of the population feeling hopeless and like they have nothing to loose you have an extremely dangerous situation.

Is that the direction Greece is going? I don't know, only time will tell. I still don't want to bail them out though.

Working for your income is hard. Stealing from others so you can sit on your a*s and complain about everything is easy. What's happening in Greece shouldn't surprise anyone. This is where Socialism/Communism inevitably takes you. The Greeks may have to work for their income again. This reality is obviously very upsetting for their Socialists/Progressives. We should pay close attention to what's happening in Greece. Our own Socialists/Progressives here are absolutely capable of such abhorrent behavior.

The social unrest of that time make the greeks meltdown look like a sunday gathering. What, it only last for one week and it is over? I am talking about a decade of craziness right in our front yards!!
