She claimed TWO HOMEOWNER EXEMPTIONS to reduce her property taxes!!! What a crock of shit and her excuse that her taxes are paid in escrow is BEYOND BULLSHIT!!! I do the exemption on my home. The bank had NOTHING to do with it. To get the exemption you have to complete a bunch of paperwork, sign a waiver that SPECIFICALLY STATES you can only get one exemption and its a crime to try to get two and have to PHYSICALLY bring it to the court house. Again the BANK DOES NOTHING!!! She knew EXACTLY what she was doing and got caught.

She rails about the so-called wealthy paying their far share, but she is a tax cheat, because IL property taxes rank in the top five on the nation. Ms Duckworth, my property taxes are also very high, so why should I have to pay mine, but you can skip out on yours?

I am so glad she is running to represent my district, so I can vote against her!

A suburban congressional candidate improperly claimed two homeowner exemptions at once over a period of several years, a Daily Herald investigation has found.

“They didn't think about it,” Duckworth spokesman Kaitlin Fahey said of the issue. “Taxes were paid out of escrow. This wasn't like beating the system.”

County records show Duckworth claimed homestead exemptions in both DeKalb and Cook counties from 2007 to 2010. The Hoffman Estates Democrat is running against Republican Congressman Joe Walsh, of McHenry, in the 8th Congressional District.

By law, Illinois residents can only claim the exemption on the property that is their primary residence. The exemption reduces the amount of property taxes owed by lowering a property's assessed value.

No telling the truth about a candidate running for CONGRESS!!! With a name like truth matters, I would think the truth would be important to you.

I respect her service and scarifice to this country, but her Big Government supporting, big Union protecting, promise to raise taxes and spending pledge, business unfriendly ideology and socialist leaning viewpoint is what I care about when casting my vote!
