It's not about Tax Cuts! It's about their spending! SHEESH! Allowing Citizens to keep more of their hard-earned money should never be considered a bad thing. That's the big problem with Socialism. Their spending never ends. The more they take in,the more they spend. This goes on til you reach the point we're at right now. What about those future generations? We're at a point now where tax cuts or raising taxes has become meaningless. All just a drop in the bucket now. Our Government has failed us miserably. One thing i know for sure is that the Socialist/Progressive Democrats aren't going to fix things. It's time for real change. I hope this starts happening this November.

Both impact the deficit. Republicans cut taxes and increased spending to pay for two wars. If you cut taxes and maintain spending the same ....you still run a deficit

Explain how they increased spending yet the deficit was shrinking up until 07'.

They kept the cost of both wars off the books.

And Katrina was off the books as well as the wars, and in addition to all of this, the social security surplus of about $200 billion to $300 billion a year was used to mask the deficit....these surpluses are no longer coming in to the same degree, less than $100 billion a year to nothing in future projected budgets.

1. Don't maintain the house (allow our infrastructure to crumble)
2. Spend money on non-essentials (missle defense system, $ 1+ billion embassy in Iraq, corporate welfare)
3. Don't tax, borrow (and pay hundreds of billions in interest).
4. When the roof leaks, ignore it as too costly
5. Don't plan for the future (ignore the threat of natural disasters, pandemics, protecting the environment, our future energy needs).
6. Do the same thing over and over and expect a different result (the war on drugs)
7. Proclaim equality of all Americans, but act to benefit those more equal than others
8. Cut taxes, maintain spending (or, in the case of GWB&Co. increase spending)
9 Leave office with a $6 Trillion dollar public debt and blame the Democrats.

Leave office with an ecomomy in shambles and blame the Democrats.

I read just fine. Tax cuts are not the only answer. I know that. But why create budgets that spend like crazy knowing these tax cuts do exist? Blaming tax cuts is just stupid. They knew they had these tax cuts before their spending insanity took place. It's always all about the spending. Obviously the Socialists/Progressives will never understand this and that's why they need to get the boot this November. I'm sick of all the whining about tax cuts. It's time to start whining about spending. That should have happened a long time ago. Better late than never i guess.

in 2010's budget, the first obama full budget, they reduced deficit spending by 70 billion verses the last bush budget....so please, show us what they have spent extra on, that was not being spent already?

in the stimulus....
they have spent more on unemployment compensation....not much one can do about that....they did spend billions on tax relief to small business owners.....not much I would do about that either, in this economy....they did give the states money to help them stay afloat....this is debatable on whether is should have been given to them, imho.

So, give us an example of what the Democrats have legislated that has increased spending?

Medicare Pill bill is causing huge deficits, and the Republicans instituted that....the cost of wars were also started by Republicans...which are now included in Obama's budget yet were kept outside of it in President Bush's...

1. Cut Taxes

2. Increase Military Spending

3. pretend they'll cut non-defense spending/entitlements/etc.

4. Eliminate the deficit and balance the budget

It is a mathematically impossible scheme. It is a fantasy. It is a con. But, most importantly, it is a con that has won them elections over and over again,

feel free to give us your ideas on what to cut, and how to get the deficit in line, with specifics, and also how to add jobs, reduce unemployment, and reduce the national debt and to pay the surplus money from social security that they used for things income tax revenues should have paid for, oh...and how you plan on paying the NOW 350 billion a year in the interest payment on the national debt, WHILE reducing taxes for everyone!

For starters it would help if Obama wasn't using reckless rhetoric....all of this spread the wealth talk is just stifling new hires. Spread the wealth is another way of saying get ready for massive tax increases.

Extending unemployment benefits over and over again is causing some folks to stop looking for work.

The main problem is a lack of trust in government. We don't know what other crazy shit these folks may pull.
