Hey Dumbass: Tax-Cuts Don't Have To Be Paid For

You do need to pay for tax cuts. Contrary to what you may believe, not every dollar earned is used to buy goods with sales tax, in fact the more we make the less we spend. Therefore, lowering taxes does not increase revenue. In short, tax cuts most definitely need to be paid for

Total horse-shit.

The more we make the more we spend. In a capitalist society that's the way it works. In a Socialist society the more we make the less we can spend on goods and services because the government takes it before we can spend it.

I keep hearing Progressives and Liberals talking about paying for tax-cuts. This is the problem with them. They feel that our money belongs to them. They assume that what you earn is their's, not ours.:cuckoo:

For all of the denials of being Socialists this alone gives away the honest to God truth about them. This is ether a lie or just a mind-set that is based on their socialist mind-set.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....so, we DON'T have to cut spending (somewhere-else), to "pay" for tax-cuts, huh??

Good thinkin', there.....MUDD-BUTT!!!!!!

The Repugs want to cut spending. I guess you just haven't been listening as usual.

Republicans want to cut spending on social programs which make up less than 30% of our budget. They won't touch national defense or anything else they deem "more important" than things like education and infrastructure.

so, spending ones money on buying stocks should be taxed when one purchases the Stock? spending ones money on buying/paying a tax accountant or lawyer should be taxed when the money is spent on them? spending ones money on a multi million dollar home should be taxed when one makes the purchase?

Let me know, then maybe i could make up my mind on whether to support such a deal as a sales tax.

That is inarguably wrong.

"The assumption that everybody spends all of his income every year makes the tax rates on the wealthy appear much higher than they actually would be. In the real world, consumption falls as income rises. That is to say, more of a family’s income is saved the more money it makes. However, those with low incomes tend to spend much more than their annual income" -Bruce Bartlett, http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog/files/bartlett_fair_tax.pdf
^An interesting read for anyone who seriously thinks that Fair Tax will work

Repealing Obamacare cuts a little over 100 billion a year. You only have about another one and a half trillion or so to go in order to get us to a budget surplus that covers the interest on the debt and allows us to start paying it down.

You cannot bring taxes up to 100%
You cannot bring government spending down to $0

There has to be a middle ground in there between what is taxed and what is spent. To think that you can solve everything by just cutting spending is a ridiculous as thinking you can solve everything by just raising taxes

Our government has been working this balance since there was a government. The pendulum swings back and forth between the two as we try to find the right ratio between tax rates and expenditures

You don't need to pay for Tax Cuts if you haven't already spent the money you didn't have. The Democrats have squashed so many future generations with their spending insanity. Tax cuts or raising taxes are irrelevant at this point. It really is that bad. No matter what they do,it's all just a drop in the bucket in the end. That being said, more of the same and raising taxes is not a winning platform for the Democrats. I guess they'll understand this better after Election Day in November. Get out and vote people.

The Dems don't believe in education....only indoctrination.

The less educated the Homer Simpsons in their base are the better.

Increasing spending with the medicare pill bill, growing the military spending, creating homeland security, the cost of 2 wars, the boomers nearing retirement, while cutting taxes- was the most non fiscal thing the republicans did or could do and this grew our national debt by over $6 TRILLION dollars in just 8 years, let alone the future deficits coming from the programs they instituted.

the tax cuts did not increase our revenues as you claim, it reduced our revenues and they did not even reach the level they were at in 2000 until the year 2005, and under any normal situation tax revenues would have increased each year on their own just by the growth in gdp, in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004. In addition to this, with these tax cuts still in place and our crappy economy we went back to collecting less revenues than we did in 2000 BEFORE the tax cuts.

Cut us a break Mudwhistle...and do some research on this before making false claims, as you did.

Those tax breaks, are and will continue to add trillions upon trillions to our national debt for the next 20 years or even forever, if changes are not made....and are putting this debt on many generations of our children to come.

Tax cuts without cutting spending is IMMORAL....it puts the spending they've done during our time on to others that had nothing to do with the spending imo.

So why do the Dems want to do it? But they want to wait till after the election to do it?

Well..they want to increase spending but cutting taxes are gonna be put off indefinitely.

The Dems keep sending money out of the country along with thousands of jobs but they also want everyone to think they're open to tax-cuts.

This is a fucken lie of course.

they are open to tax cuts on the middle class, the taxes they want to allow to expire is for the top 2% of earners in our country....

The reason they support such, is because these people were given tax cuts with the Social security surplus moneys, of which most at that level do not pay any social security taxes and the ones that do pay some, still do not pay them for most of what they've earned.

The Bush tax cuts, took the working man's money, and gave a good majority of it, to the wealthiest. A reverse robinhood.

and NOW, if the couples making more than $250k's tax cuts expire, it will help pay back the social security surplus that they essentially 'stole' from the middle class and the poor, who paid in to the social security fund on a percentage of their entire total income.

Now, with this cruddy economy, may not be the time to do such, but it will and should take place somewhere down the road.

You conveniently ignore the fact that Bush spent twice as much as Clinton. "Adjusted for inflation, in eight years, President Clinton increased the federal budget by 11 percent. In eight years, President Bush increased it by a whopping 104 percent" (Veronique de Rugy). Obama enters the presidency in one of the worst depressions in the history of the United States and in the midst of two astoundingly expensive wars. I don't, however, think Obama did a great job of dealing with this; we should have left the middle east before the end of January 2009.

For the most part I agree with what you have said in this thread, but Republicans wanting to cut spending is mularky. Republicans are no more interested in cutting spending than Democrats. The real difference between the two is where they want to spend.

Immie

I've always been against getting rid of the income tax for the federal sales tax.

That is until someone pointed out, with the federal sales tax, even illegals would be forced to pay it.

That's one point in it's favor.

Yeah, I know, off topic, BUT . . .

That's why I'm against the Death Tax. They tax the same money over and over and then they do it again when you are dead.

And when I inherited some of it, THEY TAXED IT AGAIN as income.

Flat tax. That's the way to go. If we had to SEE how much taxes we really paid, I don't think there would be one liberal left in the country.

Once they saw how much of their pay check really went to goverment, there would be blood in the streets.

LOL. Simple example of Republican 'fiscal' responsibility.
1. Don't maintain the house (allow our infrastructure to crumble)
2. Spend money on non-essentials (missle defense system, $ 1+ billion embassy in Iraq, corporate welfare)
3. Don't tax, borrow (and pay hundreds of billions in interest).
4. When the roof leaks, ignore it as too costly
5. Don't plan for the future (ignore the threat of natural disasters, pandemics, protecting the environment, our future energy needs).
6. Do the same thing over and over and expect a different result (the war on drugs)
7. Proclaim equality of all Americans, but act to benefit those more equal than others
8. Cut taxes, maintain spending (or, in the case of GWB&Co. increase spending)
9 Leave office with a $6 Trillion dollar public debt and blame the Democrats.
and number 10.
Leave office with an ecomomy in shambles and blame the Democrats.

Same ole boring & stale Socialist/Progressive spin. It's all about those dreaded Tax Cuts. Funny how it's never about their spending madness huh? What about the future generations they have completely destroyed? These current tax cuts aren't even a drop in the bucket in the whole scheme of things. Compared to the Democrats spending insanity, they don't even come close to mattering as much.

Tax Cuts are always a good thing though. There really is no downside to them. If you create a realistic budget and don't spend money well into the future that you don't even have, you probably wont need tax cuts or raise taxes. It all starts with your spending. Like i said, the Socialist/Progressive Democrats are out of gas. They have no answers. More of the same and raising taxes just isn't a winning platform for them. The People want real change. See ya in November.

Yeah!

Liberals have taken such "good" care of things while in power. That's why unemployment is up to almost 10%!

Yeah, run on that liberals!

OBVIOUSLY you have a selective reading problem.

I stated tax cuts without spending cuts, is immoral and WRONG....it added $6 TRILLION DOLLARS to our National Debt in just 8 years, let alone the future deficits and national debt it is going to cause.
