Hexagonal bolts and their nuts

I am the expert here

Flat_Head_Stove_Bolts.jpg

That is a slotted countersunk bolt

its a flat head stove bolt and nut  which just happens to be a slotted countersink bolt

Yep a counter sunk bolt but not necessarially a stove bolt. And stove bolts use square nuts because of the rust making a hex head hard to remove later. Plus stove bolts are soft so they can be wrung off pretty easially.

Metric comes in MM pitch. I buy lots of them.

I also have metric taps and dies and do not recall seeing NF on any of them just numbers.

To be fair, the MM metrics mainly come from overseas; Europe and Asia. And are mainly used in automotive applications.

The NF and NC metrics are usually American made and are the large sizes. :eusa_angel:

I have yet to see metric NF or NC bolts or taps at the fastener store I frequent.
All I see are pitch numbers.
I am not saying they equate to some NF or NC metric size , just never bought any marked that way.

Now those metric NCT bolts are a bitch.
