Population of the United States 1965 - 194,302,963

Population of the United States 2006 - 299,398,484

A 35% increase in population.

A 35% increase in median income

And a 334% increase in federal spending

Awesome and very telling graph. The Gov does indeed spend too much and at the same time aren't receiving the same tax revenues as they did 30-40 years ago due to the countless Americans underemployed.

Kill the prescription drug entitlement
Bring the troops home
End ALL loop-holes & subsidies
End the Bush Tax Cut
Fix SS & Medicare
Kick all freeloaders off Medicaid

then we'll look at the Budget and Deficit...

Where's GDP on the graph? That would be a useful perspective.

Why is it a useful perspective? Is the government somehow entitled to more money simply because people make more money?

I also question why.

People, on average, are only make 35% more than they were in 1965.

Justify government spending growth of 334% for a population that has only grown by 35%.
