Operation Fast and Furious U.S. Payback to Mexican Government

The sale of guns by gun store owners who were directed by the ATF to allow Mexican drug cartels to make what amounted to illegal straw man purchases was both criminal and stupid. In fact, Operation Fast and Furious should have been called Operation Criminally Stupid.

It should be no big surprise that the U.S. has been looking for an excuse to intervene in Mexico. The mass arming of drug cartel members in a situation where the police and army are on the defensive against drug cartels rises to the level of an international war crime. But, this is what America does best and intervention is the U.S.’s number one export to balance its trade deficit with the world. Moreover, it helps the U.S. government have an excuse to transfer the last remaining dollars of middle-class wealth to military-industrial complex.

The U.S. has decided to demonstrate its extreme displeasure with the Mexican government for legalizing all drugs. The media has been suspiciously quiet about the fact that marijuana, as well as cocaine and heroine, are now legal in Mexico. The U.S. had warned Mexico to not legalize drugs, as it would impede the U.S. Drug War and further erode the government’s prohibitionist policies. In an effort to stem the violence and to decrease illicit drug profitability along with bolstering what the Mexican government had hoped would be a lucrative drug tourism industry, Mexico stood to gain billions of dollars from Americans whose appetite has continued to grow for all types of illegal drugs. But, the U.S. wanted Mexico to understand that it can only defy the U.S. government at a price. There is no crime too large for the U.S. to inflict in its efforts to impose its will.

The Mexican government decided to ignore the empire’s decree to continue prohibition, and now the U.S. wants to make sure the Mexican government suffers. Not only does it want to see the Mexican government suffer, but it also wanted to rub its face in it. The DEA was actually going to staff the man responsible for Operation Fast and Furious to the DEA office in Mexico City so that he could report back directly to Washington as to the destabilizing effects the operation was having on the Mexican government. The plan was going according to schedule until some DEA and Border Patrol agents ended up being killed by these very same weapons. There were about 30,000 weapons of various types. The cartels were sold everything from from large caliber pistols and military assault rifles to long-range 50 cal. sniper rifles.

The U.S. views Mexican law enforcement as a joke and needed a way to put Mexico in a position where it began begging for U.S. assistance. Since Mexican law enforcement is viewed as being so corrupted, the U.S. did not mind if thousands of Mexican agents were killed. The U.S. position is that the more Mexican officials that die, the better it is for the negotiating position of the U.S. Placing the Mexican government at a disadvantage is viewed as beneficial for U.S. foreign policy. The U.S. is now in a position to be able to strong arm Mexico, not only over issues involving its drug policy, but also policies relating to its energy policy. Mexico has oil reserves that the U.S would like to control.

The U.S. also became angry at Mexico when it made purchases of items in dollars illegal in Mexico. Saddam and Gaddafi both found out what happens when a nation defies U.S. monetary policy.

The name of the DEA operation was a joke on the Mexican government. Operation Fast and Furious would sell 30,000 weapons to Mexican drug cartels before anyone knew what was going on. That covers the “Fast” aspect of the operation. Once the Mexican government found out what the DEA had done, the U.S. knew the Mexican authorities would be “Furious”.

The rub in the plan was that Americans would die and gun store owners went to the media and to their elected officials due to the fear of being sold down the river by agency officials and politicians as the death toll mounted and the Mexican government was destabilized. This is just one more way the empire can play politics. The U.S. did not have to become openly involved in arming cartels, it could allow the cartels to arm themselves via the U.S. There are Mexican official who want to extradite American officials to Mexico, but the U.S. will never allow that to happen. The Mexican government wants the U.S. public to know how many Mexican law enforcement agents have died as the result of Operation Fast and Furious. The U.S. may be paying reparations in the form of increased economic, military and law enforcement aid.

The U.S government had also been looking for an opportunity to serve as its excuse for the seizing of Americans’ guns after having manipulated the American people into the position of being willing to surrender more rights in exchange for the illusion of security. With the coming unrest due to an economic situation that is in a downward spiral, the U.S wants to be able to disarm Americans while exploiting Mexican natural resources.

These people in Washington D.C. are not stupid. Government agencies do not do things without a reason and planned actions are constantly war-gamed from every political angle by the ruling elite in Washington. Furthermore, an agency like the ATF does not begin any major operation without having briefed and gained approval of the White House. Yet, after this fiasco nobody will be reprimanded, let alone be fired, because so far the plan has gone according to schedule. The furor in Washington will be over before anyone knows what happened and key people will exert influence in an attempt at a bi-partisan white wash. This is not a screw-up. It is a manifestation of U.S. foreign policy.

The police, who engage in increasing levels of tyranny and police state abuse, will now be eager to be allowed to inflict even greater deprivations of liberty on Americans while telling us it is for our own good. The U.S will also have increased say in deciding what drug cartels and cartel members will be targeted and incresed control to the Mexican government and its resources.

This is not about an"empire" this is about a few (Chicago) thugs who have risen to power, and an attempt at practicing manipulation of sentiment about firearms with an intent to further legislate against them in the future. It mirrors the Clinton administrations ignoring illegal weapons usage by convicted felons with an eye to there being an increase in gun violence, and then the eventual public outcry against legal weapons in the hands of citizens ... and the eventually the nullification of the 2nd amendment.

The ATF used straw buyers to sell guns to a mexican drug cartel supposedly so they could track how guns from the US were distributed within the cartels in mexico... only they didn't actually do anything to track the guns. The drug Cartel they sold them to was unknowingly led by a paid FBI informant who was paying for the guns with US tax payor dollars and distributing them within his cartel to use in his war against the Mexican Police, civilians and other drug cartels and didn't even bother to let the mexican Government know they were doing it.

The JD claimed no knowledge of the operation and eric holder testified he knew nothing about it last month and it turns out that it was led by the US attorney in pheonix and supervised by the deputy US attorney and Holder made a speach lauding in in March talking about the stimulus money that was going to be spent on ot in Obama's stimulus plan by himself and by Janet Napalitano at the HSD.

The JD initially claimed they had no information about it, then stonewalled saying what they had wasn't relevant then finally under supbenae released a 900 page report to the congress with more totally redacted pages than actual information.

Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano are in deep shit.

Most humans are just too stupid to be allowed access to lethal weapons. If a human needs a weapon, that human should be issued a large boulder weighing 300 lbs, with instructions that they can only throw it if they can lift it.

It's George Bush's fault!

But these same humans are competent to vote for the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth?

Do libtards ever pay attention to the idiocies they spout?

This whole operation doesn't make any sense and every time I've heard the mainstream media report on it they pay little attention to the fact that there was no system in place to track these weapons.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that the stated vague goals of this operation are in fact the real objectives. The absolute stone-walling by the JD, in many instances giving documents that are over 80% redacted, is indicative of something larger.

"Anti-gun groups have been disappointed to see no action so far from President Barack Obama"

Administration to propose steps on gun safety - USATODAY.com

Obama has stated again and again that the drug violence in Mexico is due in large part to the American gun industry, and I find it hard to believe that after taking office this key issue to progressives fell by the way side. This administration hit the ground running on all issues, and I whole-heatedly believe that this was an attempt to demonize American gun laws as promoting violence in Mexico.

Those guns were meant to be found at Mexican crime scenes. That's how they were supposed to be tracked. And then it could be reported that American guns were responsible for arming the drug cartels.

What they didn't expect is that they would be found in America, and the number of ATF agents who were repulsed by this brazen, criminal operation.

What is stunning is that lack of interest by the media and the public. Shockingly, not really, is that Fox News is the only major outlet that gave this story any attention beyond brief mention.

Well not the one you be quoting. That's for sure!:lol::lol:

You should be thanking the DOJ for doing this.

That is the mentality of the left I suppose.

I'm not thanking the DOJ for leading and obtaining funding for an operation that resulted in the death of American border patrol agents and countless innocent Mexican civilians.

Far from thanking, I want to see heads roll for this.

Thanking the DOJ for allowing us to see the inept leadership that is in the heads of government.

Thank you Google for allowing us to see how terse you are for no reason.

This is shaping up as arrogant Obama's Watergate, and he will go down. But not by the legal process, it will be done at the ballot box.

The Obama administration wanted to destabilize Mexico as well as manufacture a perception of the need for gun control here in the U. S.

When the administration implemented Fast and Furious, they calculated that by arming vicious Mexican drug cartels, the guns would kill hundreds of Mexican citizens and police officers. The death of Mexicans was part of the plan, since without the violence Fast and Furious would not achieve its objectives.

This callous disregard for the lives of Mexicans will not sit well with Hispanic voters, especially not Mexican-Americans. As congressional hearings generate more publicity and as knowledge of the deadly Fast and Furious operation spreads, Obama will lose the support of Hispanics en masse.

They won't vote Republican, but they won't go to the polls to vote for Obama either, and without them Obama can't win.
