Here are the States in financial turmoil

Knew we were in trouble KMAN and whats sort of interesting here is the Gov. that presided over that mess is now the head of Homeland Security. The housing bubble hit us pretty hard and we still have several issues here among them Illgegal Immigration costs associated with that. It's not surprising though what we are on that list, however, in unemployment numbers at least the last I checked, we are not up there with some of the other states.

Is it just coincidence that most of the states having financial problem voted for Obama?

4 out of the 5 states with the biggest problems are California, New York, Illinois, Nevada, and Arizona... all but Arizona (McCain's home state) voted for Obama....

States are in trouble because anticipated revenue has dramatically declined due to the recession: Unemployed people don't pay state income taxes. Unemployed people don't buy as much and pay sales taxes. Small businesses don't generate revenue because nobody's buying. It has nothing to do with whether or not a state voted for Obama.

KMAN, you are the posterboy for the new Obama Derangement Syndrome (ODS) disease. Are you trying to be an antibody to BDS?

States are in trouble cause they spent like Obama when times were good, didn't put anything aside. In IL we also had two very corrupt governors in a row, that did nothing with our infrastructure. We shouldn't be in the shape we're in. Now we have an 'honest' replacement, but not the sharpest knife in the drawer as governor.

Same in Michigan. We have Engler (R) and he did exactly what you are saying to our state.

Then walked away as the GOP sold America to foreign interests.

And these are the states that Reaganomics reigned over for 20 plus years and Bush Jr presided over the past eight! And your point is that 20 years can be fixed in six months - you give Obama great credit don't you, more than I do considering the mess he inherited from the birdbrains on the right.

Both of you illustrate my point, it doesn't matter if they are D or R, they ran the states badly, misused our money, now with falling incomes and receipts they want the people to 'sacrifice.' In IL our little dude of governor thinks raising taxes by 50% will help.
