You know that because Obama backed out on public funding, his campaign has amassed a fortune and he was able to buy that 30 minute time spot on all the major news networks the other day.

I don't normally contribute to political campaigns, but I just sent $100 to site deleted as spam

They will be airing ads in the swing states and they need your help. You can view the 4 ads at the above website.

You can send in $100, $50, $20, $5... whatever you can spare because times are tough, but if we don't, times will get even worse under an Obama presidency.

Let's do what we can to get the right man in the Oval office.

Obama said he would consider public financing if he was elected.

With his success on the internet, it would have been foolish to go the public funding route.

Republicans have often won in the past races because they had more money to spend to sound bite the masses.

Tuff shanuggies that this time the Dem candidate had more money.

I volunteer, for Obama. I go in and make calls and also go door to door. McCain needs help. That's why he has resorted to robo calls. Can't get any live person to do it.

Any MIDDLE CLASS citizen that would actually donate money to a Republican campaign in this day and age is IMHO an idiot. Take a look at where the special interests dollars are going, and think about it. Donating to the Dem. party doesn't quite land you on the short bus but it's very, very close.

The GOP is going to have to clean house before I do that. A new generation of sincere young republicans will have to come in and show me that they really do have good ideas and they really are fiscally responsible.

Do you remember HW Bush running for president? In his first run, he made 20 promises and didn't keep one of them. When he ran the second time, he made the same 20 promises. That's when I started to realize that he thought we were stupid.

Everything they say is a lie or half truth. For example, calling Obama a socialist. McCain went on Larry King the other day and said Obama wants to distribute the wealth. Larry said, "don't we do that now? Don't rich people pay a little more and poor people don't pay anything and/or get welfare? Isn't what we have now redistributing the wealth and therefore socialism?"

McCain said, "no, there is a big difference", and the tried to explain what the differences were and he couldn't.

And I don't care about social issues. Abortion. Don't go get one if you don't like them. Gay marriage. I'm not gay so I don't care. Guns. No one is taking our/my guns away.

So I don't know why you believe Obama will do worse than McCain, especially after the last 8 years. McCain is no maverick. He has voted strategically over the past 12 years to appear like a maverick. But he sure didn't stop the debt from doubling in 8 years.

It will take a Republican winning without my support first, and then he/she will have to do a good job their first term in order to win my support. Otherwise, I don't believe them. I base my opinion off their track record. I really don't care what they say during the election, because I know they'll say whatever they have to in order to get elected.

Ha! I donated to Obama when he was having trouble with Hillary. He needed it at that point. And Hillary was BROKE!!

But yes, donating to the GOP is insane. Didn't Sarah Palin buy her kid a purse that costs a fortune? That came from donors.

I have built my own site in which I have written some one-pagers that would be good to hand out. I originally planned them for and notified some churches. Now it is up to us. We can distribut them to people and help pusuade them -- esjpecially the 7% undecided. If you handed out 100 in a parking lot, you might influence 7 of them. That is enough if we all pitch in.

If we got others on the boards to do the same -- especially in PA, and OH, we might turn this thing.

I believe that my best ones are my resumes on McCain and Obama, and my one for all democrats. I also have a letter that I have written to pastors that would be good for anyone. I will put it at my site tonight (Sun). I haven't put my site name on all of the one-pagers yet, but I will.

We could each hand out 200, and influence 15, and one of them would want to work with us. That would double our strength. Two would become four. Each of us four would hand out 200 more, and that would double us again. If you got some friend to work with you, we could multiply even faster.

We don't have to talk to people. It is best to just ask them if they know who they are voting for. Whatever the answer tell them that you have something from the internet that will help them.

actually you are wrong. he said he would sit down with John McCain and if they could come to an agreement about the 527s being taken out of the equation he would agree to take public financing.

Last election Kerry got killed by the Swiftboaters if you recall and if Obama had taken public financing he'd have been in the same boat, he also wouldn't have been able to compete in NV, VA, CO and other red states which is what I think REALLY pisses off the cons.

the DNC doesn't seem to raise nearly as much money as the RNC which puts the presidential candidate at the disadvantage because the DNC must assist ALL democratic candidates with the money they raise.

As for contributing time v. money I find the canvasing and phone banking for the candidate of your choice is probably the most useful. I'm sure you can find a RNC office near you and offer your services chic.
