I'm new to the board. I'm politically closest to libertarian, though I won't join the party because I believe for a libertarian to actually join a political party makes them not a true libertarian. So I consider myself a "small L" libertarian.

I actually believe a true conservative or a true socialist would be a political libertarian because that's the only way they are free to pursue their values. Liberals who think the government helps people and conservatives who think government laws actually promote morality are equally fools.

Just my view.

Well at least you're 1/2 right so far... that's more than most...

Welcome to the Board...

Well, we're going to have to agree to agree on the half you agree with and agree to disagree with the half you don't. Obviously you don't agree on the side you support. One day, my friend, you will open your eyes to the reality of government and recognize it doesn't work for your side any more then the one you oppose and you'll take your values into your own hands rather then passing them off to people who suck at accomplishing what you want. In the mean time, I predict we'll have many good debates.

Welcome, kaz. Hey, it's your story. Tell it any way you want to.
True enough. I hate government and so far it's always proven me right. I can't figure out on either of the traditional sides why they can't see it hasn't ever actually accomplished what they thought it should. It's not that their objective was wrong, it's that their solution was.

Effective solutions are driven by the individual who is accountable.

Government is unaccountable and ineffective. And it does a lot more damage along the way to failing to accomplish what it set out to do. I don't want anyone to feel bad about their view, I just want them to realize there's a better way to accomplish it. The bad news is it starts with their taking responsibility for accomplishing it themselves.
