actually, calling the president of the united states who was elected by the people according to the constitution of the united states the "enemy within" is sick and disgusting. abortion has nothing to do with it. i have lived through some pretty screwed up presidencies that i totally disagreed with, but i have never refered to a president as the enemy. the president, whether you agree with him or not, represents all of us.

who or what is the enemy within? is it all those who voted for obama? is it the constitution of the united states that provides for a a democratic election? who? maybe the 2ndAmendment ass will let us know? someone may want to let him know that there is a lot more to the constitution than the second amendment.

The 'enemy within' is the POS that currently occupies the White House. The one who said he would stand with Islam first "should the political winds shift in an ugly direction." That.

Precisely who are you directing your erroneous statement to? Obama is the one who says Republicans and conservatives are his ENEMY. So he has referred to ME as his ENEMY.

Yup. President Obama who was supposed to heal the country's divisions just called some Americans "enemies." Guess which ones? Republicans. Yup. Enemies.

This is so wrong on many levels in that the country is at war and The PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES is calling half the country "enemies." And it's also playing to the racial divides which harm this country. I can't get over how awful this is. It puts the party label over that which unites us which should be that we're all Americans.

Actually, Obama is the person who started the "Enemies" crap, attempting to extract the Latino vote over an issue many American Latinos disagree with Republicans on--immigration. He furthered the cause of racial divisiveness when he told the Latino Community in a speech:

“If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re going to punish our enemies and we’re going to reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us,’ if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s going to be harder.”

(he retracted that comment in the following weeks, but not after the damage was already done, and he renigged on his campaign promise to cross party lines and show transparency. What a snickering laugh.)

2nd Amendment, I apologize for my part in heisting your dear introduction thread, and to make up for it, I would like to share some links on the second amendment, because I think your namesake necessarily deserves some edification in Campaign Rhetoric time, and I thank you for employing it for other members at USMB, as people who failed to read Obama's dismal Senate voting record (and state votes, too) on this issue:

1. Obama Comes Out Against Concealed Carry

2. Obama Opposed bill okaying illegal gun use in home invasions as Senator in the Illinois State Legislature in 2004:

Hale DeMar, a 52-year-old Wilmette resident, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor violations for shooting, in the shoulder and leg, a burglar who broke into his home not once, but twice. Cook County prosecutors dropped all charges against DeMar.

In March 2004, the Illinois Senate passed Senate Bill 2165, a law introduced in response to DeMar's case, with provisions designed to assert a right of citizens to protect themselves against home invasions, such that self-defense requirements would be viewed to take precedence over local ordinances against handgun possession. The measure passed the Illinois Senate by a vote of 38-20. Barack Obama was one of the 20 state senators voting against the measure.

Governor Rod Blagojevich vetoed the bill. On Nov. 9, 2004, the Illinois Senate voted 40-18 to override Blagojevich's veto. Again, Obama acted against the bill.

On Nov. 17, the Illinois House voted overwhelmingly, 85-30, to override the governor's veto and Senate Bill 2165 became law.

I've become very interested in the 2nd Amendment ever since it hit home years back. My first self-defense class was given for free by CrimeStoppers and a local police department to all the women in the area because we had a serial rapist on the loose. It was an 8 hour class, excellent and hands on. Following that class, I took other classes which led to my appreciation of guns and the 2nd Amendment, concealed carry, etc. To put it briefly.

The only victim here is the truth when Obama tells people in foreign countries away from America we supplied 90% of guns to cartels when the actual figure is 4%.
