It was never stipulated that the islands were it the tropics.

Eskimos are dark skinned and survive quite well, some on islands with few amenities.

Are there any examples of highly evolved all black societies? I'm curious why the missionaries that infiltrate black and colored societies don't get told to leave or all killed. I've never understood why the inhabitants of North America didn't kill all of the Europeans and other interlopers before the treacherous whites got a foothold.

If they had sunk the boats first off the whites wouldn't have had a clue how to follow up the first invaders and defending this land should have been pretty easy. Once the Natives had learned the secrets of gun powder and guns/cannons and turning ore into useful items the Native Americans could have developed the means to defend themselves.

That depends on what you call evolved. You may think building weapons of mass destruction, polluting the earth, and keeping people alive longer than nature wants them to live evolved. Personally I don't. Several examples exist. The Egyptians, Sumerians, and West African nations all had highly evolved societies. Thats just the ones we know about.

The reason the missionaries were not always killed is because they came in the name of learning, peace, and god which people of color the world over can relate to and respect. Most of the time they had no idea it was all a front until they were overran with white people with superior weapons. When you look back at history it will tell you lying was the primary method of gaining a foothold anywhere for white people. Once their numbers were sufficient then their true nature came out and they begin killing the indigenous people.
