Uh.

When you called me, I believe it was, "my Big Pimp daddy-man."

a.k.a. Mista Sprinkles

Potent drugs you're on... "Pimp daddy" isn't in my vocabulary.

When did I become owned?

First of all, it's "own3d"

Your "owned on" date is generally your forum sign up date. Did you click the waiver at registration time?

D, OCA, someone explain the fine print to shattered.

I object. Strongly.

Oh, and just for the record...I do the owning - I'm not the "owned". (Note the proper spelling).

By the way, there is a difference between "the girl of your dreams" and the "right girl for you".... that's another fact of life that stinks. Oftentimes, they aren't the same person. I found that out the hard way.

Very, very wise.

I go away for a week, and all this happens!

RWA, there is some good advice in this thread for when you feel up to following it.

I hope you feel better very soon, and meet someone even better.

Thanks for the kindness, Abbey. Hey! you taken?!

Aw, that's so nice, R. I will celebrate my 16th wedding anniversary this year. But geez, have I been involved with some losers in my past. I once was engaged to a guy whose own parents advised me to run fast as I could away from their son! It was good advice; wish I had taken it right away... :duh3:

Dammit.

I was dating this girl. We were technically seeing other people, though I THOUGHT we had deep affection for each other. All the sudden she's in love with this other guy she's been talking to for several months, but didn't consider dating, until she met him in person. This dude swept her off her feet in a matter of a few days. M'ther f'er. He started using the M word. Marriage. This word made her go loony for him.

Now, I'm just some dude she used to see. I loved this girl and this sucks.

Any advice or pity or anything? From anyone? Libs? Here's a chance to kick me. I'm down.

That does suck. I can't play some Johnny Cash for ya, so I'll just post the words instead. Remember, it's the thought that counts, eh!

Big River - Johnny Cash :D

Now I taught the weeping willow how to cry, cry, cry.
And I showed the clouds how to cover up a clear blue sky.
And the tears that I cried for that woman are gonna flood you Big River.
Then I'm gonna sit right here until I die.

I met her accidentally in St. Paul (Minnesota).
And it tore me up every time I heard her drawl, Southern drawl.
Then I heard my dream was back Downstream cavortin' in Davenport,
And I followed you, Big River, when you called.

Then you took me to St. Louis later on (down the river).
A freighter said she's been here
But she's gone, boy, she's gone.
I found her trail in Memphis,
But she just walked up the block.
She raised a few eyebrows and then she went on down alone.

Now, won't you batter down by Baton Rouge,
River Queen, roll it on.
Take that woman on down to New Orleans, New Orleans.
Go on, I've had enough;
Dump my blues down in the gulf.
She loves you, Big River, more than me.

Now I taught the weeping willow how to cry, cry, cry.
And I showed the clouds how to cover up a clear blue sky.
And the tears that I cried for that woman are gonna flood you Big River.
Then I'm gonna sit right here until I die.

Cash rocks!

I got to meet him, when I was 14. :)

At his museum.

My favourite Cash song?

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hold
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

[Chorus:]
What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

[Chorus:]
What have I become
My ssweetest friend
Everyone I know goes away
In the end
And you could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

You're very lucky, I've seen him peform though.

He's one of those "hit the nail on the head" song writers, imho. I love his music. "Hurt" was sort of eerie for his last release, but good tune nonetheless.

It was better than that Raindrop song...
