Do you think the founding Fathers were living today they would think the right to possess guns or the ability to have access to good healthcare would be more important in the pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Nobody is stopping anybody from the pursuit of life, liberty or happiness.

Given his suffering from gout, I'm pretty sure where Benjamin Franklin would stand - when he could.

without access to healthcare will hinder if not stop your pursuit of happiness.

The pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness can be easily waylaid by a major illness that you can't afford. All first world nations have decent health care for all except usa. Course, maybe cleveland is an exception, right?

I think they would be for possessing guns and decent health care as rights.

amazing to me the amount that some people rely on healthcare , must be some genetically messed up and sickly people that in the past woulda left the planet so that the 'normal'' people could persue their Happiness with out the burden of the inferior whiners !!

The founding fathers felt it was the States responsibility to address the issues of everyday life of citizens, not the federal governments.

It would be amazing to anyone who was unfamiliar with the history of life expectancy, advances in medicine, or - well, just about anything related to the topic.

WHAT A FUCKING RETARD.

A FIREARM PROTECTS MY LIFE . SO IT IS A MEANS OF PROVIDING HEALTHCARE.

SO THE QUESTION WHETHER THE RIGHT TO FIREARMS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT THE RIGHT TO ACCESS HEALTH CARE IS SIMPLY RETARDED.

HAVING A RIGHT TO ACCESS HEALTH CARE IS NOT THE SAME AS THE "RIGHT" TO COMPEL TAXPAYERS TO PROVIDE YOU HEALTHCARE.

.

Everybody has access to healthcare, you just have to pay for it.

If taxpayers don't provide you with a new car, that is not denying your access to buying one. If government doesn't buy you a new house, that does not deny you access from living in a home.

The pursuit to happiness means to allow people to access happiness--not fund or provide happiness. That's up to you.

An example of a person in desperate need of mental healthcare and does not realize it. As you are having a heart attack grab your gun and see what happens.

It's easier if you're not born into poverty. Those on the far right actually believe we should, literally, abandon them. That's absurd.

The Founding Fathers are fucking turning in their graves at the sight of what this country has become. Their biggest fear was a big centralized government controlling citizens' lives. And that's exactly what we've become.
No one is entitled to health care at state expense. You can't afford it? Go see a charity, that's what they do.
