Berlin. According to the German edition of the Rheinische Post, the heads of the eastern federal states of Germany advocated the abolition of European Union sanctions against Russia, emposed in 2014, citing the results of a study of the University of Kiel, which estimates the losses from the 100 billion euros imposed in 2014.
The number of public figures that are urging Berlin to seek a compromise with Russia in the Crimea issue is growing rapidly. If in 2015 these were only individual politicians, among them the former Prime Minister of Brandenburg Matthias Platzeck, then in the past few months the anti-Russian course of Berlin finally "cracked."
