Headed for Hothouse Earth

the sky is falling

again

we are surely doomed

this time
Evidence of the changing climate is everywhere. Being in denial will not change that.
Not denying it, just making fun of yet another claim we are all going to die.

so many predictions, so many times they have been wrong.
Just like in the bible.
idk what you are talking about.
Sorry, thought you were someone else, lol.

Beautiful Beijing. I'm sure all the alt-left globalists will be out on the streets tomorrow, angry as all hell at the pollution coming from China...

/----/ No one says we shouldn't use technology to prevent or minimize pollution. But your cap and trade agenda is to cripple the US economy with draconian measures.
Cap and Trade Primer: Eight reasons why cap and trade harms the economy and reduces jobs - IER
Cap and Trade is a conservative idea. It worked great for acid rain. We should do it again for carbon emissions.

The reason the worse case scenario do not happen is because we take action to avoid it. Acid Rain and the Ozone Hole were contained because of action. They too had worse case scenarios. We are headed for catastrophe if we sit silently. Maybe not for us because we will be dead, but for the generations that follow. Look around the canary is dying.
a million years from now the earth will still be here, we are not doomed, we cannot kill the earth.

the climate changes constantly, we are long over due to be much hotter of much colder.

what happened to the constant cat-5 hurricanes?
massive earthquakes?
tornados that ran for days?
the iceage that was supposed to happen?

How about this if you don't believe in global warming, believe in pollution of air, land and water. Get your brain around that.
you're an idiot

No, I'd say you are.

View attachment 208962 View attachment 208963 America has decreased their emissions significantly, how about China? You can't see the sun in many cities.

The world dares not point the finger at China though, too profitable to manufacture there, so they bug America their usual target when they need to blame someone for something. Of course, they conveniently love America to fund their global boondoggles as well.
Nobody denies China is an environmental basket case , but that is no excuse for inaction. China is making a major push into renewables. China Aims to Spend at Least $360 Billion on Renewable Energy by 2020

"Renewables" are a joke. China is the major polluter in the world.

That article is fake new. There is no way China is going to spend a third of a trillion dollars on bad technology that really can't compete with fossil fuels after building so many fossil fuel power generation stations in the last couple of decades.

If I am wrong and they do then they are fools just like other countries and will have to switch back to fossil fuels. Just ask Spain how that Green economy worked out for them. Damn close to bankrupting the country. Ask Germany how come they are importing so much Russian fuel after investing in so much environmental wacko technology.

Renewables simply don't work. Governments may be stupid and subsidize the industry but it can't complete economically with fossil fuels. It is nothing more than a Moon Bat's wet dream. Silly Liberalism.

Republicans were not always anti-environmental loons. There was time they were rational and enacted legislation to curb environmental abuses. Cap and trade was a policy that worked. It seemed ages ago. Republicans and conservatives now just follow the drum beat of anti-environmental interests. If it is funded by big polluters or fossil fuel companies they are for it. Independence of thought on this issue has long since abandoned them.

Me for recycle what possible & clean air, water. Less package more better. eat less junk. I did not invent dispoable diapers beaners toss on LA parking lots. Cloth diapers waste precious water, try 5 kids in hamper, no AC. No one has all answers. //

There is no reliable evidence that any feasible course of action for the human race would reduce the level of greenhouse gases to an extent that it would have any significant impact on global temperatures 100 years out.

And this is particularly true when safe, reliable, efficient, carbon-free nuclear power is taken off the table.

Are Americans going to give up their cars and trucks, and walk or bicycle everywhere?
Is the Western World going to give up air conditioning, and reliable electricity and the Internet?
Is the developing world (at least 5 billion people) going to give up its quest for modernity and forget about building electric power plants - which will of necessity be coal-fired?
Is commercial freight and passenger traffic going to decrease significantly?
Are the world's farmers going to go back to human and animal power?
Are solar and wind going to replace fossil fuels?

The answer to all of these questions is a resounding NO!

At the very best, doing everything that is feasible, the World will reduce the growth of greenhouse gas emissions gradually, for the next 20 years or so, when it will stabilize. So if "doing nothing," the temperatures would increase by 3 degrees C, if we do everything feasible they will "only" increase by 2 degrees.

In short, the inflammatory rhetoric is, in a word, stupid.

The World needs to focus on developing engineering solutions to the problems that will inevitably occur due to gradual warming. Flood controls, desalination of seawater, relocating some populations, better construction methods in the third world, building seawalls and dykes in places where populations cannot be relocated (e.g., New Orleans, Venice).

And while we are at it, we should do our best to optimize fuel efficiency, and reduce and control (and/or neutralize) harmful air, water, and ground pollution. CO2 is not "pollution."

A new study out Monday warns of the possibility of out-of-control global warming if humans fail to band together to fight the worst effects of climate change.

The analysis, conducted by researchers at the Australian National University and the Stockholm Resilience Center, among other institutions, outlines the potential for a "threshold" that, if crossed, would lead to runaway warming patterns and the advent of a "Hothouse Earth."

If such a threshold is crossed, the study warns, global average temperatures could climb as much as 8 degrees Fahrenheit above current temperatures and sea levels could rise 30 to 200 feet.

"Crossing the threshold would lead to a much higher global average temperature than any interglacial in the past 1.2 million years and to sea levels significantly higher than at any time in the Holocene," the study says.

The report is based on a review of past research of thresholds for climate change, according to USA Today.

Study warns of looming potential for runaway global warming

We are living in a critical time. Vote in November for those that believe in science and are willing to take on climate change. The science is settled and the consequences real and happening now. Throw denialists to the curb if you give a damn for the future.

I figured you were telling us you were going to some faggot bath house in Chicago.

It's a global whining thread instead, which is even more gay.

The last time the temperature rose a few degrees, everything died.

How many new nuclear power plants should we build?

Did you bother to read the paper at all?

The Abstract alone make clear it is another hyperbolic warmist nonsense.

It's all fake and false. Nothing we do has any affect on our surroundings. Go back to jaunting mindlessly around in your Stupid Useless Vehicles and all your other gross consumption and forget about any guilt.

Stop using the internet, you're killing the planet!!!!!!

Snow is a thing of the past

The Arctic is ice free

The climate has always been changing in some manner and to some degree. Right now the evidence says it is getting warmer and the rate of warming - already unprecedented in human history - seems to be accelerating dramatically. The possibility exists that there is a tipping point and that we are approaching it. Your contention that we are headed for an ice age is ignorant gibberish and we should treat it as such...

This news will fall on deaf, egocentric ears. The grotesque over consumption indulged in by America has become, like a drug, impossible to renounce. It hasn't made the country the happy place one would think, but any change is considered going backward. In fact, proposing change is taken as an insult, as accusing the nation of being 'wrong'. In the U.S. mindset, that is unacceptable. We are, thus, condemned to follow the fat into the fire.
BWHAaahahahahahahahaha

This was the same shit they tried 38 years ago... THEIR PREDICTION FAILED... Regurgitated Bull Shit....
