I couldn't find a link to Trump's ad on sending jobs overseas. I've seen it again and again on TV. It starts off with Hillary saying you can't legislate whether or not a company sends jobs overseas. Trump never says you can. He leaves you to draw your own conclusion.

The truth is, the government can't stop companies from sending jobs overseas. This country is not Russia or China, thank God. Unless the government can prove it's a threat to national security, there is nothing the government can do about stopping companies from sending jobs overseas.

And it's the almost that makes a difference. You can make the cost of leaving too much to bear or put huge tariffs on products trying to come back after leaving.

Businesses that are in any space that's remotely commodity have to manufacture overseas. If they had to pay U.S. wages to make their products then there's no way they could sell a similar quality product for vastly more money. Trump's businesses wouldn't be exempt from that.

The government would have to do things to make all businesses within a certain space see the value in keeping more operations in the U.S. or it'll never happen.. not until the standard of living and labor laws in places like China catches up to the U.S's. It's rather simple.
