It seems to me that the Dems have shot their wad against Trump, and now face a credibility problem that will damage them in the November elections. After three years of hysterical accusations of misconduct, no one except their committed acolytes even listens to them anymore. (The low interest in and viewership of their impeachment shenanigans underscores this point.)
This means that further attacks on the President will largely fall on deaf ears for the remainder of the year, even if any of them are well founded. Therefore, the Dems are faced with nominating a sacrificial candidate to appease their lefties or else nominating Bloomberg just to flood the airwaves with political ads. Which will it be?
