Montana wore #3 at ND.

Led Zeppelin's album titled "III" was released in 1970, the same year Joe Montana started High School, which was 4 years before he started playing for ND. His jersey number in High school was 13, which if you add the two numbers together, equals 4!!!

Why didn't the Beatles do Woodstock?

Were they rejected or something?

They had some name recognition and body-of-work.

Reason : they felt above it.

I thought Hey Jude by the Fab 4 went on much too long - one of their most overrated and one of the few songs by them that I disllike.

The problem with music is context, if you weren't there you don't know what was happening in music at the time. Hey Jude as well as Stairway To Heaven came out at a time that when long epic songs were being introduced. FM radio would play whole sides of albums, it was a different time.

Kind of like how music has changed today. Most songs sound like they come from a soundtrack for a lame ass teen movie or a vulgar negro talking over a former hit song in the background.

I cut high school to pick up ZOSO at EJ Korvettes on Bruckner Blvd, in da Bronx when it came out.

Stairway is still a fucking awesome song and not for the "All Along the Watchtower" solo at the end it's a total kick ass composition from Led Zep

Its amazing how Stairway to Heaven gets the number 1 ranking in various polls for best ever song.

like the Citizen Kane of rock.

At best : Stairway is totally mediocre and goes on too long. Yet it has attained a cult status - for no fathanable reason.

For guitar playing Zappa's "Heavy Duty Judy" from Shut Up N Play Yer Guitar should be #1

Best listened to on the Pygmy pony over by the dental floss bush.

Not everyone goes for Zappas discordant jazz style though.

Go to about 6 minutes and revel in the greatness of the guitar playing and realise they broke ground.

The intro is about as beautiful as it gets.

This song is awsome

Your right... its a cool song, but it is played on broadcast radio way too often.

I've grown sick of it like alot of classic rock. It seems to always be the same old songs, and this is one of them.

I do appreciate your love for great guitar solos though..... :clap2:

See we can have some kind of common ground.... awesome!

Stairway to Heaven, by Led Zepplin was and is most definitely one of the Greatest performances ever. And Layla, by Eric Clapton ranks right up there next to it.

Can you believe it that I can actually agree with truthmatters on something?
