"If hate could be turned into electricity, it would light up the whole world." Nikola Tesla

"Between 5,000 and 7,000 hate crime incidents are reported each year to the FBI." AP

"Evil when we are in its power is not felt as evil, but as necessity." Simone Weil

Does hate create evil, does hate allow evil. Do Mike Pence, Sean Hannity, Brad Parscale, Stephen Miller, Mitch McConnell, Evangelical preachers acknowledge the work they do in and for this administration hurts people, children, families, the environment, and not just immigrants - the latest scapegoat for the easily influenced, easily led. Are God's children only white and wealthy? Is there some hopeful and helpful goal that salves their consciences or is this just a consequence of groupthink and follow the leader. I return to the nuns' refrain, omission is as bad as commission - maybe worse.

Eight million dollar reduction in food stamps, five hundred thousand children would lose lunch programs, eight million dollar reduction in housing supports, all this while the wealthy pay less to support the republic and the government that provides the tools and laws that protects their greed. The greatest irony is that many of the people hurt, the areas hurt most are often areas of the nation that support republicans, that support Trump. The southern white, the rural white, the poor white are the biggest participants in food stamps and children's lunch programs.

What purpose do these policy changes serve, does hatred of the other enter the picture or is it that they just don't care? Omission again. Their goals are simple, nullify the caring state, the consequences be damned. They want to eliminate the ACA, deny food for needy children, roll back education reforms, then add in the selection of judges* and policy makers who are simply sycophants for corporations and injustice.

Pres Trump is a psychopathic personality, for him none of this matters, as the naive news person asks him hard questions he creates a reality that doesn't exist, he points fingers and they are always directed at another. No conscience exists in this man, that oddly is his appeal to many Americans, he says their dark thoughts out loud. Why hide your bias, prejudice, and lack of compassion, it is open season. Is there any need to explain that phrase.

We are all immigrants in America, it is time people faced that fact and worked to make all lives better, not just cheer an administration that is un-American to its core.

I have to question the stability of someone who deliberately obsesses over something to the point that they deliberately chose research material that is nothing more than bias confirmation.

Clearly, if the OP thinks that those who view the world differently than he does are evil monsters, he would choose to look at ONLY that information which confirms their beliefs.

This is the kind of mental disorder that has to lead to social rot in America today.

We have to ask ourselves if someone is willing to go to all this effort to silence a group of people they disagree with, can a mass shooting be far behind?

People can hate anything.
Brocolli too.

The Anti-Racist logic would be to serve more Brocolli in front of the Brocolli hater.

It's called spite, and, or idiocy.

If someone hates something you don't shove it down their throats.

Well, that's what Liberals do with Balkanized / Multiculturalism.

Rather than solving Racism, Immigration of diverse groups creates Racism.

Who's the victim of Racism in s Homogeneous society?

I believe that hating others is wrong, but the whole idea of "hate crime" legislation is a sham. It's a cleverly disguised way for the PTSB to undermine freedom of speech and freedom of thought. Intentionally.

“What purpose do these policy changes serve…”

None – save that of conforming to failed rightwing political, social, and economic dogma; the wrongheaded notion that necessary, proper, and beneficial programs act as a ‘disincentive to success,’ and the reactionary idiocy of conservative neo-social Darwinism.

Thanks for replies but saying something doesn't exist when it is as evident as your nose is the child denying he ate the candy. Ask yourself what would you call the murder of Church goers in Charleston or the beating and death of Matthew Shepard?

"The Charleston church shooting was a mass shooting in which Dylann Roof, a 21-year-old white supremacist, murdered nine African Americans during a prayer service at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, on the evening of June 17, 2015. Three other victims survived."

"The main hypothesis concerning group-think is this: the more amiability and espirt de corps among the members of an in-group of policymakers the greater the danger that independent critical thinking will be replaced by groupthink, which is likely to result in irrational and the dehumanizing actions directed at out-groups." Irving L. Janis in 'Sanctions for Evil'

Another simpleton broadbrusher OP giving the killer exactly what they wanted.

A voice.

The killer speaks for no one.

The only one who should be condemned is the deranged killer.

You decry hate, but clearly hate Rs. Are you not a hypocrite?

I call murder murder

I don't try to guess why people kill as the reasons don't matter.

And in all reality if you kill anyone you hate him the moment you end his life. No murders out of love, compassion or even indifference.

So all murder is a "hate" crime

Thoughts are not crimes

One key point of this thread is that Pres Trump is a psychopath, the news item below is a just another confirmation of that point. Psychopaths function best in a society or nation with freedoms in which their lack of a conscience allows them to say or do anything and the next day deny it or gaslight it. This happens almost daily in this administration, and yet Americans who are not psychopaths hear the lies and oddly accept them. Some even say, well that's just who he is not realizing they are acquiescing in these lies and even the hate filled words.

"President Trump is seen in newly released video recounting the crowd size at his rally earlier this year in El Paso while speaking to hospital workers in the city who treated victims of a recent mass shooting."

"In general, the most common political topic for Trump’s campaign ads is immigration, according to an analysis by Bully Pulpit Interactive. Ads referencing Trump’s anti-immigration policies have accounted for 21.9% of Trump’s spending since 23 March. The next most common topics are “fake news”, the economy and socialism. He has spent just $767.99 on ads about healthcare since 23 March, and none on childcare, housing, the minimum wage, or climate change."

A.) Balkanization AKA Multiculturalism causes chaos across the globe.
If only you could ask Nikola Tesla a native Balkanite.

B.) One can be completely factual & not hateful in presenting inconvenient facts.
While an anti-Racist can be hateful of Racists.

C) you’re presenting your opinion, not fact, and yes it’s an opinion of intolerance, which is by definition hate.

"On sites like Gab, Reddit, 4chan, 8chan, and VK, the new white supremacists and misogynists hatch conspiracy theories that take off on Twitter and make it on fake news sites like InfoWars and even occasionally Fox News. They serve up “constant peer pressure to do something criminal,” says K. They turn hate speech into hate crimes:
