PARIS, (PIC)-- Palestinian journalist Bilal Al Hassan said on Sunday that the Mideast peace process has come to an end, and was carrying no meaning except imposing an Israeli solution on the Palestinians.

Hassan, a well-known Palestinian figure and a former Fatah member, described wagering on the UN Security Council and hoping for US recognition of an independent Palestinian state as an “illusion”.

Hassan asserted that the Palestinians must say no to the peace process as is and develop an alternative political strategy to defend Palestinian rights with the help of other Arabs.

“I believe the ideal response is that the Palestinian Authority leaves the settlement process, a move that would consequently announce an end to the Oslo [Accords], and calling on wise Palestinians to map out an alternative political plan and place it before the Arabs to make them to shame, and to announce it and all of the Arab positions to all.”

Hassan stated he believed that Palestinian reconciliation would greatly benefit the Palestinians if it was built on the basis of a political program. “If based on security cooperation with Israel, it would be a failed reconciliation of no benefit.”

Never heard of the guy. What meat does he eat that he is such an authority? It means no more than if Maureen Dowd pronounced the Tea Party over.
