Many were talking about how we spend 16% of GDP on health care.

I always thought that seemed crazy.

Certainly a reason to discuss (not yell and holler) the issue of health insurance and health care delivery.

Health Spending Climbs to 16.2% of GDP « Healthcare Economist

Some of this is because of the economy.

All I heard was that the ACA would bring that down.

I don't hear anything about it now.

Does anyone have a good data point ?

I looked on the web and found little (but can't say I spent a lot of time).

Bending the cost curve....

What's your solution? Give unregulated corporate america the chain?

You really are always so ill-informed. The reason we spend so much on healthcare is because of government incompetence, not corporations. For instance- it is ILLEGAL for Medicare (one of the largest purchasers of drugs in the WORLD) to negotiate prices with the Pharmaceutical companies. ILLEGAL!! Who do you blame for that? The Drug companies, who negotiate with everyone else, or the fuckwits who run the government?

Wake up kid....

The OP asked a question.

First, were you one of those who screamed and yelled about the 16% ?

I certainly thought it told us something.

Now...do you know if that has come down ?

Instead of disingenuously asking a question to which you already know the answer, let's take a look at this little chart:

I don't know the answer....that is why I am asking.

Do you purposely act stupid ?

When I've searched....I ain't finding it.

Oh, well. It's there if you're not too lazy to look again.

I noticed your chart goes to when ? You couldn't find one that is up-to-date ?

For one thing, any chart would only go as far as 2014. And the reason I posted the chart had nothing to do with the 16%...as I indicated in my post.

So why did you post it ?

And you were short two key years.

And you worry about me being lazy ?

So why did you post it ?

You really have no idea? :wtf:

Take a look at the little squiggly lines and see if you can figure out what they mean. Take your time.

I asked why you posted it when you said it had nothing to do with my question about the 16% of GDP.

You said it had nothing to do with it.

Why would I not ask.

And I don't see myself wanting to follow you down some rabbithole.

You got a point to make, make it (for once).

Kind of your way of saying you don't have it.

Just because you post things without knowing what they mean, don't assume other people do. Go on, duck out now.

BTW, you do know the figures at your link are from 2008? And you're criticizing me for posting stats through 2012? That's hilarious...

Drinking this early in the day and posting too.

What a combo.

When you sober up, you're gonna feel pretty stupid...my guess is that you are used to it.

I posted pre-ACA...2008. You may be to young to recall, but prior to the ACA...as was pointed out in my post...this was one of the battlecry's of the far left.

Moron.
