Has Obama just snatched defeat from victory?

Yes. We want poor people dependent on the gov't to disappear into the ranks of the working middle class.

Great idea! Now...if you can convince your "job creators" to quit sending all the good jobs to China to maximize their short-term bottom line, you might have a point.

You've never ran a business have you? Government, mostly dems in government are the ones forcing jobs overseas and it's by design. By forcing high cost, low benefit regulations on business, companies will continue to move, and folks like you keep bitching, while supporting the government.

This is not about China. China has the same effect on the US economy as a high-tech manufacturing plant, requiring only a few engineers to watch over the robots. That is why Apple is moving some manufacturing back to the US -- operating robots in US is just as cheap as in China (if not cheaper). But it will have little effect on jobs.

The income inequality is growing for the past 30 years, and this trend is not going to end anytime soon. The only solution to this problem is equalising the outcomes somewhat through higher taxes on the rich and supplemental income to the low income workers.

Otherwise it is going to be the "Player piano" world.

Spoken like a true communist, government playing fucking Robin Hood is the only answer. If that's true this country is doomed.

The irony is that liberals were doing exactly the opposite since Keynes times -- they were arguing that we can make capitalism work, that its deficiencies can be fixed while preserving its free-market foundations.

Communists, on the other hand, believe that capitalism cannot be fixed and, thus, must be replaced with something else (e.g. a centrally planned economy).

The right wingers can't see that difference because they are dumb.

Do you really think we have free markets? Liberals have been placing restraints on the markets for decades, there is nothing free about markets today. Can you give me even one example of a free market, looking around my house I can't find one example of a product that was produced by a free market.

You behave like a bot, reacting to key words. You see "free-market", and you start arguing that they do not exist in reality.

I know that they don't -- but that's beside the point. The point is that be it Hong Kong, US or Sweden, they are all marked based economy, and are very different from North Korea or Cuba, or USSR.

But not for you -- you think that Sweden is as red, as it gets.

You likely never will, because the ideal of a free-market society is just as utopian as Marxism.
