The NATO treaty was ratified around the late 40's as a symbol of unity in Europe after WW2 but it has become nothing but a useless gun running club for left wing regimes. Who would think that a vote from a corrupt little country as Albania carries the same weight as as the U.S. Apparently the leadership of NATO rotates and God only knows what kind of leadership NATO ends up with. Bill Clinton used his contacts in NATO to organize an air campaign against a defenseless country when he was caught with his pants down.

"Soviet Union suffers worst wheat harvest in 55 years... Labor and food riots in Poland. Soviet troops invade... Cuba and Nicaragua reach troop strength goals of 500,000. El Salvador and Honduras fall... Greens Party gains control of West German Parliament. Demands withdrawal of nuclear weapons from European soil... Mexico plunged into revolution... NATO dissolves. United States stands alone."

Mmm...Let's not dissolve NATO yet. :)

YES! We should base our lives off of movies!

Damn the Putin cult is calling for the disbanding of NATO now. Crazy times.
He isn't though.. He supports the terrorists "Turkey"
BTW, fuck NATO
It's amazing that the love for Putin here is so strong that one justified instance that had nothing to do with NATO has conservatives saying we need to abandon NATO. Anything to appease Putin...

This has absolutely nothing to do with that wife beater, Putin. This is about what is good for America. The UN and NATO have not been good for America. NOT AT ALL!

How about we bring all those soldiers home here where we need them? We need to stop fighting wars for the UN - NATO - enough is enough.

Sorry Jeri the love affair conservative Americans are having with Putin has everything to do with the current surge of outrage at NATO.
While that may be true for some folks it isn't of me. I just happen to believe that we need to stop fighting the UN's wars. As for Putin happening to be right about something such as ending NATO? Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Nothing to get excited about, OS.

NATO expansion was utter madness.

Going to war to stop Soviet occupation of Western Europe was a reasonable policy, going to war to stop Russian occupation of the Baltics would be insane.

We should pull out of NATO asap.

People have been complaining about UN and NATO for years. Hek, remember the League of Nations? Was the outrage for them because of Putin, too? :dunno:

Sorry bud the rash of anti-NATO posts and threads are a direct result of Putin getting smacked down by Turkey. The right's been pretty outraged about it.

The best gift one could give to Putin is the dissolution of NATO.
