Has California REALLY Thought Through 'Banning Gas-Powered Cars'?

Is California going to SERIOUSLY 'criminalize' owning a gas-powered car?
- Sounds kind of stupid. I mean, having 'Sanctuary Cities' to protect violent criminal illegals buy criminalizing Americans for owning cars that run on gas?

Is California going to BUY people cars?
- There are people who own cars who are not going to be able to afford new non-fossil fuel-using cars, especially when the Govt just created a MANDATE that all of its citizens are going to have to buy non-fossil fuel-using cars, allowing dealers to basically jack up the prices all they want, knowing citizens either have to buy them or go without cars. It's sorta like Obamacare on wheel - they can call the new mandated cars 'Obama-mobiles' in honor of Barry and big govt that 'now' forces people to buy certain products.

:p

California Bill to Banish Gasoline Cars by 2040 Is in the Works

'A California lawmaker wants to put the state alongside China, France and the U.K. and have its legislature consider a ban on vehicles powered by fossil fuels.

California Assemblymember Phil Ting, a Democrat who is chairman of the chamber’s budget committee, said he plans to introduce a bill that, starting in 2040, would allow the state’s motor vehicles department to register only “clean” vehicles that emit no carbon dioxide, such as battery-electric or hydrogen fuel-cell cars.'

How do they repair roads for the electric vehicles without the taxes generated by gas powered vehicles?
charge a butt-load at 'recharging' stations.....all those charging stations they have all over the place. :p

how will poor people afford to buy a fucking electric car? my gawd man. they can barely afford the 1K dollar clunker sitting in the side street..smh
Im so glad i dont live in that shithole
That’s probably their point. Force the poor/middle class onto public transportation so the roads will be clear for the Callie elite to use the streets. After all, that would reduce their congested roads so they could breeze to their affairs.

When your thought processes are distorted by an ideology, you can't really "think things through".

At the same time, however, maybe they said that Kennedy and the Moon.

Maybe some advances will be accelerated by this.
.

luddites will always fight against new technology.
Hey moron, you do realize a state that has no gas cars collects NO FEDERAL tax money for roads right?
It is okay, they will just take the tax from the electric bills...

The dumb ass liberals on the west coast already had to think up new taxes when electrics cars were not paying fuel taxes and revenue dropped. Toxic battery disposal tax? That sounds green. /sarcasm

ONE MORE TIME

God bless you Texas! And keep you brave and strong
That you may grow in power and worth, throughout the ages long.

electric cars are far from "new".

They are a lot newer than the gasoline internal combustion engine

The answer is of course, "No" because this is nothing but virtue signaling and a bunch of elites messing with the masses.

Of course the cops, fire departments and other government people will be able to keep their ICE cars, because it's no longer "civil or public servants" but "civil or public nobility" in their eyes.
They will force the people into government owned mass transit.
Which will run every few days when they feel like it.
