2) There's a thing called catering to your benefactor/donars or Allumni and victims some which can be allumni or sending their kids there.
3)personal issues with the man or have friends that do.
4)image/bad press
5)0 tolerance
6)don't want to risk the drop of female students admissions.
7)probably someone threatened a boycott.

Just to name a few, then there's always the unseen reason, using this as an excuse to fire someone they had other reasons to fire, but could not or accumulated conflicts.
