Harry Reid Supporters Egg Tea Party Express Buses in Route

Here you go. Paul Krugman, a professional writer, makes a point I've been trying to make all along.
But back to the main theme. What has been really striking has been the eliminationist rhetoric of the G.O.P., coming not from some radical fringe but from the party’s leaders. John Boehner, the House minority leader, declared that the passage of health reform was “Armageddon.” The Republican National Committee put out a fund-raising appeal that included a picture of Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, surrounded by flames, while the committee’s chairman declared that it was time to put Ms. Pelosi on “the firing line.” And Sarah Palin put out a map literally putting Democratic lawmakers in the cross hairs of a rifle sight.

All of this goes far beyond politics as usual. Democrats had a lot of harsh things to say about former President George W. Bush — but you’ll search in vain for anything comparably menacing, anything that even hinted at an appeal to violence, from members of Congress, let alone senior party officials.

Krug is a professional nut and well known far left extremist, and he's who you pattern yourself after?

Shoot the messenger as you wish, but what he's said is true.

I'm really surprised that McCain would have Palin out there campaigning for him after the crosshairs incident.

He looked really embarrassed he had to stoop to that level, Cindy looked furious.

:eusa_whistle:

Supporters of Senator Harry Reid have just thrown eggs at the Tea Party Express bus caravan - striking at least one of the three buses (the red Tea Party Express bus) with multiple eggs.

About 35 Reid supporters had lined Highway 95 in front of the Nugget Casino in Searchlight where they were attempting a counter-demonstration the tens of thousands of tea party supporters who are gathering for the "Showdown in Searchlight."

]

So every one of his supporters got together in one place?

Sorry, I'm not generating enough outrage to offer too much indignation on the egg throwing incident but the real violent tea baggers should definately go to prison for a couple of years for hate speech and inciting violence in DC.

This stuff is measured in degrees and the hate speech, Palin's targeting Democrats using crosshair icons, throwing a brick through a window.. any one of those are in no way comparable to throwing an egg,.

Throwing shoes at the president rises to the level of violence as well.

What about the rabid left with their posters of Bush in the crosshairs? Them too? We really need to recognize the difference between actual genuine threats and stupidity. On both sides.

This whole thing about 'hate speech' and 'incitement' is becoming laughable - and that's a shame because there are a few genuine nutters around who we really should be worried about. Unfortunately, the left and the right keep pretending it's anyone who disagrees with them.
Good to see that you agree Palin is a nutter.

Actually, while I am not a fan of Palin, I don't have an issue with her - other than I think she's irrelevant as a politician. I'm not overly bothered with her one way or the other.

She is a thorn in the side of the left, and that I find very funny.

It seem that you have become unfimilar with what the term 'true' means.

Krugman claims you can't find anything comparable to the things he mentions?

He's either stupid or a liar (actually he's both) and you sound quite silly defending it with the kid stuff about 'the messenger'.

He isn't a 'messenger' he's a propagandist, and a rather lame one at that, he also believes that spending ourselves into oblivion will restore the economy, making him a certified nut, dispite his academic credentials.

BTW Rav, ask the Paulster why he couldn't find this in the three seconds it took me to find it:

Krugman is so full of shit his eyes are brown.

How about the anti-prop 8 crowd in CA, harrassing old ladies at church and posting maps on the internet to homes of supporters? How can they not see how foolish they look?

Krug is a professional nut and well known far left extremist, and he's who you pattern yourself after?

Nobel Prize winner, professor, and well published writer. Yes, Paul Krugman would be a good person to pattern oneself after.

Paul Robin Krugman (pronounced /ˈkruːɡmən/;[3] born February 28, 1953) is an American economist, columnist and author. He is Professor of Economics and International Affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, Princeton University, Centenary Professor at the London School of Economics, and an op-ed columnist for The New York Times.[4][5] In 2008, Krugman won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics for his contributions to New Trade Theory and New Economic Geography. He was voted sixth in Prospect Magazine's 2005 global poll of the world's top 100 intellectuals.[6]

The Nobel Prize Committee stated that Krugman's main contribution had been to explain patterns of international trade and the geographic concentration of wealth by examining the impact of economies of scale and of consumer preferences for diverse goods and services.[7] Krugman's work on international economics, including trade theory, economic geography, and international finance[8][9] has established him as one of the most influential economists in the world according to IDEAS/RePEc.[10] Krugman is also known in academia for his work on liquidity traps and on currency crises.

As of 2006, Krugman had written or edited more than 25 books, 40 scholarly articles and 750 columns at The New York Times dealing with current economic and political issues.[11] Krugman's International Economics: Theory and Policy, co-authored with Maurice Obstfeld is a standard college textbook on international economics. He also writes on political and economic topics for the general public, as well as on topics ranging from income distribution to international economics. You people are easily impressed, swallow shit down and say "please sir, may I have another".

Not even the same ballpark. You're embarrassing yourself.

I have to laugh at the rightwing strategy of using all the examples of things done in the past -

THAT THEY CONDEMNED AT THE TIME -

to now justify their own actions.

That seems a bit...what's the word I'm looking for? Oh, right...

...asinine!
