458 billion was the 2008 deficit. 420 billion in lower TAX revenues in 2009. The TARP spending. Continuing the Bush wars.

Add them together. That's 80% at least of the 2009 deficit.

If Obama and the Democrats had frozen spending at 2008 levels the 2009 deficit would have been a trillion dollars.

Well, we could balance the budget by cutting back about a trillion and a half dollars worth of government spending. How many net jobs do you suppose that would create?

Around here a local industry just announced about 400 people getting layoffs largely due to decreased demand in the form of fewer defense contracts. Now that's only a few million dollars.

Multiply that by enough to get to a trillion plus in less spending.

Sound like the formula for job creation?? No.
