GAZA, (PIC)-- The legitimate Palestinian government of premier Ismael Haneyya in Gaza has asserted it was and still is keen on preserving Egypt's national security and stability, underlining it will monitor and control the borders with Egypt closely.

The assertion of the Palestinian government came during a telephone conversation between Haneyya and head of the ruling military council in Egypt Marshal Mohammed Hussien Tantawi on Thursday.

According to Palestinian sources, Haneyya urged Tantawi to invite a delegation from Gaza to discuss the new political developments in the region and to restore the good Palestinian-Egyptian relationships that would help rebuild trust and confidence and secure stability in the region.
