It just seems like these divisions are instigated by outside sources. Is it just a coincidence that this is happening now?
If the Muslims really cared for their Christians in Egypt and Iraq they would not chase them into the streets killing them no matter what any outsider said.

Arabi had written an article for the Egyptian Al Shurooq newspaper on February 19 criticizing the country's foreign policy during the term of his predecessor Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, and strongly condemning the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Maher Ayyad, a prominent Christian surgeon in the Gaza Strip, said no was hurt by the bomb that was hurled at the car he was in, but the vehicle, belonging to his brother, sustained damage.
Following Friday's incident, Ayyad, 55, began receiving text messages warning him to stop his evangelical work or face the consequences.
Christians in Gaza have faced increasing persecution since Hamas wrested control of the Strip in June 2007.
Since taking control, Hamas has been instituting sharia (Islamic) law throughout the coastal enclave, which, among other things, forbids any non-Muslim from sharing his or her faith.

The trend became noticeable with a series of attacks on the Palestinian Bible Society's "Teacher's Bookshop" in Gaza City last year. The shop was the subject of a bomb attack in April 2007. Its owner, Rami Khader Ayyad, was abducted in broad daylight, and found dead on October 7, 2007.
Over the following year, a series of bomb attacks on Christian institutions in Gaza took place. Particular attention was paid to places of education. The Rahabat al-Wardia school run by nuns in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, and the American International School in Beit Lahiya were both bombed, most recently in May 2008. The Zahwa Rosary Sisters School and the El-Manara school, both in Gaza City, were also attacked this summer. The YMCA Library was bombed, as was the Commonwealth War Cemetery.
Most of these attacks took place at night, and hence casualties were avoided. In a number of cases guards were the victims of violence.
Who is carrying out these attacks? The perpetrators are thought to be Salafi Islamist groups like Jaish al-Islam, Jaish al-Uma and similar organizations. The larger Popular Resistance Committees terror group has also stated that the Christian presence in Gaza should be eradicated, since it exposes Gazans to a pro-Western, anti-Islamic influence

Amid lawlessness and threats, tiny religious minority’s fears grow.
ISTANBUL (Compass Direct News) -- An attack on a Christian school in Gaza last weekend has created fear among the strip's tiny religious minority, a Palestinian Christian said.
Armed assailants broke into the El-Manara school in Gaza City’s Zaitoon Quarter at 2 a.m. on Saturday (May 31), according to the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR). The attackers tied down two school guards and beat them before stealing a bus belonging to the Palestinian Bible Society, the PCHR reported.
The PCHR said that unknown gunmen had carried out a similar attack against the school on February 21.
“The Center strongly condemns the recurrence of these attacks, and calls upon the authorities to investigate them seriously and prosecute the perpetrators,” the PCHR said.
A Palestinian Christian leader who requested anonymity for security reasons said that police had reportedly arrested one of the assailants. But he said it was too early in the investigation to say who was behind the attack.
