A new Palestine government, that includes Hamas and Fatah members though, takes over the leadership of Gaza and Westbank.

Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah reached an agreement on Thursday by which the Palestinian Authority will take control over the Gaza Strip. The deal also includes Hamas' consent for a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, according to a Fatah official.

I am confused, on whether the 3 teenage kidnappings were part of Protective Edge , or what started Protective Edge?

Fatah-Hamas unity government will strengthen terror, says Netanyahu
Israeli prime minister brands Hamas a terrorist organization and says the unity government should not be recognized

The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has called on the international community not to recognize a Palestinian government made up of the former rival factions Fatah and Hamas

In a statement issued before the expected announcement of the full Palestinian cabinet on Monday, Netanyahu again branded Hamas a terrorist organization and said the new government would strengthen terror not peace.

Via his Twitter account he said the unity government rested "on Hamas", which "was calling for the destruction of Israel". He said the international community should not embrace it.

The agreement was expected by some[who?] to have a significant impact on the current round of peace talks between Mahmoud Abbas' Palestinian Authority and Israel, and shortly after the announcement of the agreement, Israel launched an airstrike in the northern Gaza Strip that injured four people, according to medical officials

The Palestinian unity government was sworn in by 2 June 2014[98][99] and Israel announced it would not negotiate any peace deal with the new government and would push punitive measures.

On 4 June, the day before Naksa Day, the Israeli Housing and Construction Ministry published tenders for 1,500 settlement units in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in a move Minister Uri Ariel said was an "appropriate Zionist response to the Palestinian terror government."

On 12 June 2014, three Israeli teenagers were abducted in the West Bank: Naftali Fraenkel, Gilad Shaer, and Eyal Yifrah. Israel blamed Hamas, and the IDF stated that the two men Israel suspects of having kidnapped the teenagers were known members of Hamas

It was started because of rockets and mortars being fired into Israel.

It is the same 'unity government ' of few months ago, Hamas lost their cards in the escalation, the PA (Fatah) struggle to remain in Gaza's frame, nothing new under the sun.

No it wasn't. Israel started it as punishment for Fatah, Hamas , and the Plo getting together. It all backfired now.

When one thinks about it, the death of those 3 teens, (whoever did it ) is really the Israel gov. fault, isn't it?

So everything was a total waste, back to square one.

After the kidnapping Israel was searching for the kidnappers in the WB. Gaza fired on Israel and Israel responded.
Israel did not begin the attacks, they want to catch those responsible for the kidnapping.
Hamas later admitted responsibility for the kidnapping.
Israel did not decide to take action in G till they fired on Israel.
You can easily check dates and facts.
Either way hamas was responsible for the kidnapping and the rockets. They acted first. Israel responded.

Are you forgetting the land grab as punishment, punitive measures. Mass invasion is not a way to do an investigation of 3 missing teens. Glad that doesn't happen in the US , yet.

Well they have rescinded that many times in recent history, so we will have to wait and see. Just as we will have to wait and see if they will abide by the many UN charters they have recently signed, and start talking peace and mutual borders with their neighbours Jordan, Egypt and Israel ?

mid august hamas admitted responsibility to the kidnapping and murder.

those 40 rockets were the reason for protective edge in gaza.
kidnapping was responsibility for the man hunt in the WB for the kidnappers.

Yes as the UN stated when they placed that right in International law, or had you forgotten that Israel is the only legal state under Customary International law

What land grab would that be, when you read the UN charter, UN res 242 and the Oslo accords

What about Waco ? ? ? ? ? ?

Does it include a recognition of Israel's right to exist as a state?
Jewish State:thup:

It's up to the citizens to decide how they want their state defined. It doesn't matter how others choose to recognize it.

If Israel wants to be recognized as a "Jewish State" then it might have problems also claiming recogniztion as a democratic state. But that is it's choice. IMO - it needs to be recognized as a soveriegn nation that has a right to exist, not be driven out or destroyed.

The Palestinians aren't going anywhere. Israel isn't going anywhere. Both sides have to find a way to deal with that reality in a way that does not involve genocide or ethnic cleansing..

One needs to work with what one has. There's no chance of taking the desire to kill all the Jews when the Koran says that they will be doing that in the end.

Quran (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." "People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews. According to this verse, they are to be violently subjugated, with the sole justification being their religious status. This was one of the final "revelations" from Allah and it set in motion the tenacious military expansion, in which Muhammad's companions managed to conquer two-thirds of the Christian world in the next 100 years. Islam is intended to dominate all other people and faiths.

Quran (9:30) - "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!"

From the Hadith:

From the Hadith:

Bukhari (52:177) - Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."

This is the least of what is taught. Then the media takes over and I've sure seen that stuff.

So, how do you take the desire to kill Jews when it's taught at both the religious and media levels from Mickey Mouse (The Palestinian One) to the calls for the death of all Jews?

It's not happening. As a matter of a fact, we see what unfettered militant Islam is like in ISIL.

If Israel wants to be recognized as a "Jewish State" then it might have problems also claiming recogniztion as a democratic state.

I do find it odd how people can create such monumental double standards as they do. They advocate for a Palestinian state for a people who were created out of whole cloth just a few decades ago, but when it comes to a state for Jewish people -- folks who have existed as a people for over 3000 years -- suddenly, it is non Democratic to even acknowledge it as such.
