How's that hopey changy thing workin out for ya, kiddies?

WASHINGTON (AP) – The U.S. college class of 2012 is in for a rude welcome to the world of work.

A weak labor market already has left half of young college graduates either jobless or underemployed in positions that don't fully use their skills and knowledge.
Young adults with bachelor's degrees are increasingly scraping by in lower-wage jobs — waiter or waitress, bartender, retail clerk or receptionist, for example — and that's confounding their hopes a degree would pay off despite higher tuition and mounting student loans.'

The only good news here is the Leftists are creating the next generation of conservatives.

All making $10 hr? That is what the GOP will produce. They first said our workers making $35 were making too much and now you cry because those jobs came back at $10 hr. Are you suggesting that the workers get a raise?

And remember, these are the 99%ers. Remember them? Fox and Rush said they were lazy smelly rapist hippies. You think these people are going to show up and vote for Romney? Mr. Wallstreet? Ok.

And you want to end social security and medicare? These kids owe $40K for college and can't find good jobs because you sent all the good ones overseas. Now you have the balls to say we did this shit? Bush losing 700,000 a month, Obama adding 300,000 a month, and the number would be 600,000 if it weren't for Boeher and Ryan.

Good luck in November stupid.

'This campaign will deal with many complicated issues but there is a basic choice before us:

The President has pledged to “transform America,” and he has spent the last four years laying the foundation for a new Government-Centered Society.

I will spend the next four years rebuilding the foundation of our Opportunity Society, led by free people and free enterprises.

Our different visions for America are the product of our values and our life experiences.

Barack Obama once said that his work as a community organizer motivated him to help “communities that had been ravaged by plant closings.” His desire to help others could not be more admirable but it’s clear that he saw free enterprise as the villain and not the solution.

He never seemed to grasp the basic point that a plant closes when a business loses money. So today when the President attacks business and when his policies make it more difficult for businesses to grow and prosper, he is also attacking the very communities he wanted to help. That’s how it works in America. Or at least that’s how it works when America is working.

But under Barack Obama, America hasn’t been working. The ironic tragedy is that the community organizer who wanted to help those hurt by a plant closing became the President on whose watch more jobs have been lost than any time since the Great Depression.

In Barack Obama’s Government-Centered Society, the government must do more because the economy is doomed to do less. When you attack business and vilify success, you will have less business and less success. And then, of course, the debate becomes about how much to extend unemployment insurance because you have guaranteed there will be millions more unemployed.'

What they earned their degrees in makes a huge difference.

Degrees in Engineering and other hard Sciences are in demand.

Transgender Studies, Pre Columbian Pottery, and Puppet Making,..... not so much. :doubt:

Well, Well, Well.....

The institutional scam of "everyone having a right to go to college" is finally back-firing.

The collaborative effort between government and universities to maximize their growth, ignoring basic economic theory of supply and demand, has cheapened the educational experience to the point that a chimpanzee could graduate fro college, and now we are surprised they cannot find a job?

heh.

I know people who went to get their medical billing certification because they were told that it was in high demand. Now the market is flooded with people looking for work, with certifications in hand, waiting...

For every job there are 5 people looking.

The GOP hated the 90's because low unemployment meant high wages. That's why they tanked the economy. Now their profits are up even more because they don't have to pay top wages. Meanwhile the CEO's pay is going up, up up.

USAID training foreign workers for English-speaking jobs'

While the president has been urging “insourcing,” the government has been sending money to the Philippines to train foreign workers for jobs in English-speaking call centers.

The classes under the Job Enabling English Proficiency (JEEP) Program formally started last July 8, 2009. 455 students are currently enrolled in the course spanning 12 sections. The classes are conducted in the JEEP Laboratory with 40 computer workstations and 1 server equipped with audio accessories and DYNED software donated by USAID. The JEEP Program is a new English program from USAID’s GEM Program, in partnership with BSU and designed by international specialists. The program is primarily designed for international employment in Nursing, Call Center/BPO employment, HRM employment, and Maritime employment.'

Zero respect for the American worker. But I bet you value your trade/profession I'm sure.

We don't need Engineers when we don't manufacture anything anymore.

And I know a lot of guys who went to college and started their own construction companies. That industry took a tank after the GOP deregulated the mortgage industry and destroyed the dream of homeownership for millions of people. Meanwhile the rich are gobbling up our foreclosed houses. Oh, and stop corpotions from hiring illegal workers. Go after the companies that employ these workers, don't go after the illegals themselves. They will go home when the job goes away. I don't blame them for coming here when corporations continue to hire them. I would too.

I know, too much information for a righty.

Idiot.

Yea! Why did Clinton go along with the GOP on NAFTA and why is Obama going along with the GOP on this free trade deal with Columbia?

This bothers me too. But what would Romney do about it? Same thing Bush did about our trade imbalance. Make it worse.

Anyone who thinks the only the left or Obama is responsible for the joblessness could never pass college anyway.

Yep on those issues there is no difference in the 2 partys.

Clearly your mind has been effected by inhaling heavy metals in your tiny little island in the rust belt.

The USA is'nt Michigan (thank god)

Stop blaming the entire country for the Unionized Auto Workers destruction of their own manufacturing base

A certification in medical billing is not a degree.

Actually, it's a scam that you see on TV infomercials  :cuckoo:
