After patiently waiting, I was able to get the H1N1 vaccine this morning. My school had 500 vaccines to administer on a first come, first served basis to all people involved in health care. Occupational health for our hospital and it's affiliates has been out of all forms of the flu vaccine for two months now and it appears that it will not get anymore of the seasonal flu vaccine at all, so I guess the H1N1 vaccine will be my "flu shot" for this season. So I got the shot version and so far have not felt the effects of ataxia, Guillien Barre, avian flu, Government mind control, autism, demonic voices, sudden death, or any of the other adverse effects the anti-vaccine people have warned me about. However, if I do, you all will be the first to know (provided I can walk forward and type). On a side note, make up your own mind about the vaccine, but I just got off a rotation where the admission floor was being swamped with H1N1. This strain is not the "superflu" from "The Stand", but is is a much more virulent form of the flu than the seasonal flu (it is not the same) and has the tendency to make people very sick.
