GWB turns out was a pretty good President

Another funny jr. post praising President Bush.

President Bushes legacy will be two fold. First, Iraq. Including but not limited to invading a country that was not planning on attacking us, (nor could have if they wanted to), did not represent a serious or immediate threat to us, did not have the WMD President Bush and hius people claimed, and getting thousands of US soldiers killed. His invasion and occupation is also responsible for an unknown number of innocent Iraqi civilians. Second he presided over the worst economic meltdown since 1929.

President Obama's is still being written.

How conveniently you leave out the scores of Dems from the late nineties claiming Iraq was a threat to U.S. security and interests. Iraq as a threat to the U.S. was not a GWB exclusive pal... he picked up where the Clintons, Albright's, Berger's, Gore's, etc. left off.

But hey, that's what partisan hacks do.

AIG pays us back. The forst 50% of tarp saved the economy
His leadership post 9-11 prevented a more serious economic collapse than we had
Saddam, gone
UBL, gone (thanks to water boarding in 2006 as well as Navy seals/CIA)
His tax rate will be in place for 99% of us
Sarbanes Oxley, huge success
His medicare plan was under funded, but also a huge success
was within 163 billion of a balanced budget, 2007
Numerous bi partisan legislation events such as No Child left behind, removing Saddam, Etc...
Budgets through 2008 (BHO signed the 09 budget 3/2009, called the Omnibus bill

Now how is BHO doing?
no jobs
huge debt
Obama care in which some of his own now want out of some

It is not even close people

Jeb, give it up man. Your political career is over.

Man this irritated all the usual subjects....the progressives and the paulbots (notice how they always get upset about the same things?) and I love it. I am sure Bush was not a great President cause he didnt use his Veto power to keep the democrats in check after 2006....People seem to ignore that it all fell apart after they took control. No Bushes major fault was that he thought democrats loved the country as the rest of us do......You cant trust socialists.

Was Bush small government? Nope. Yet did he spend as much in 8 years as Obama did in 2? Nope

Did he try to fix education instead of just let the union have thier way? Yep. Didnt work out the way he thought cause again he thought progressives cared about kids and they dont.

You see Bushes major fault was thinking progressives are like americans and they are not.

As for the wars....Maybe when you little kids grow up you will realize what happened in 2001....You will also realize that Bush kept us safer then Obama has.

boom.

.

One thing is for sure: We'll never get the lives, limbs and minds back of the thousands of American soldiers who should never have been sent to the Iraq & Afghanistan in the first place, nor the 4 TRILLION or so that was borrowed and then spent on those wars. Obama has been weak in getting us out of there, but he didn't put us there in the first place, and no spin can change that fact.

Think of all the lives and money that could have been saved had we just sent our armchair Rambos instead.

.

We'll never get the lives back of the 58,000 plus americans from lbj's vietnam either.

The differance is that fact haunted LBJ. GWB really doesn't seem to give a shit as to what his errors cost other people.

I have a couple friends that used to HATE Bush. After the last 4, their minds had changed. Granted, they are my age and these 2 are really all they have been interested in. I am talking hated Bush! Now, not so much. A couple of weeks ago, " I wish Bush was back"

Where in the Iraq liberation Act of 1998 did it call for US troop to invade, occupy and remove government of Iraq? Most of the rhetoric in 1998 was the lead up to Desert Fox. Furthermore, the Democrats who voted in favor of allowing Preisdent Bush to decide to invade Iraq should have resigned in disgrace.

Democrats were cowards. So was the media

They did not want to be labled by their Republican opponents as "Soft on Terror" so they voted for the war without asking critical questions

So you are saying you are, today, smarter than congress was back in 2002?
Not too difficult seeing as you know the outcome.

Makes you one smart person.

Why dont you play yesterdays lottery today? Bet you pick the right numbers!

never mid the fact that the intelligence agencies of many countries all came to the same conclusion.
Must make you feel intelligent that you know more today than the intelligence agencises of many countries didnt know back then.

Actually, intelligence agencies in those countries came to the conclusion that Iraq was not a threat. Notice the absence of key allies in the "Coalition of the Willing" France, Germany, Canada, Mexico all urged Bush to wait

Most telling was UN weapons inspector Hans Blix who urged Bush to wait so that he could complete more inspections. Bush attacked before Blix could come up with evidence that there were no WMDs

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Blix

Blix's statements about the Iraq WMD program came to contradict the claims of the George W. Bush administration,[6] and attracted a great deal of criticism from supporters of the invasion of Iraq. In an interview on BBC TV on 8 February 2004, Dr. Blix accused the US and British governments of dramatising the threat of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, in order to strengthen the case for the 2003 war against the regime of Saddam Hussein. Ultimately, no stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction were ever found

TWO WORDS "GORELICK MEMO"!!!!
Here find out why Clinton's quest to keep his Chinese donations for missile secrets prevented the CIA from sharing with FBI the 9/11 bombers!!!

As the No. 2 person in the Clinton Justice Department, Ms. Gorelick rejected advice from the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, who warned against placing more limits on communications between law-enforcement officials and prosecutors pursuing counterterrorism cases, according to several internal documents written in summer 1995.

The documents — released yesterday by the Justice Department at the request of two Senate Republicans — drew renewed calls for Ms. Gorelick to testify publicly before the September 11 commission about the so-called “wall” between law enforcement and intelligence agencies that many have blamed for allowing the 2001 terrorist attacks to occur.

Washington Times is not the New York Times nor the Washington Post
It is a rightwing propaganda rag

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_A._Clarke

Clarke wrote that when he first briefed Rice on Al-Qaeda, in a January 2001 meeting, "her facial expression gave me the impression she had never heard the term before." He also stated that Rice made a decision that the position of National Coordinator for Counterterrorism should be downgraded. By demoting the office, the Administration sent a signal through the national security bureaucracy about the salience they assigned to terrorism. No longer would Clarke's memos go to the President; instead they had to pass though a chain of command of National Security Advisor Rice and her deputy Stephen Hadley, who bounced every one of them back.

Within a week of the inauguration, I wrote to Rice and Hadley asking 'urgently' for a Principals, or Cabinet-level, meeting to review the imminent Al-Qaeda threat. Rice told me that the Principals Committee, which had been the first venue for terrorism policy discussions in the Clinton administration, would not address the issue until it had been 'framed' by the Deputies.[10]

They all agreed there were WMD's. They all joined in. They couldnt get more info becuase Hussein wouldnt let them.

Enough said.

Thge rest of what you posted was rhetoric put out there by those with no backbone and those making excuses of why they joined in when it became unpopular.

You know....like Hillary claiming "Bush cherry picked"...but refusing to back that claim up when asked wby saying "we have more important issues to address".....

Sure... A president lying to congress causing the death of 4000 Americans was not an important issue to address....

Gimme a fucking break.

The propaganda war to convince Americans that Saddam was the next Hilter began as early as Dec. 2001. Listening to President Bushes radio addresses it was clear their aim was to justify invading and occupying Iraq with the emotions we all felt after 9-11.

But if all you want do is insult me, please keep me on ignore, thanks.

While I agree that Obamalama is horrid... I, as a conservative, do not and have not ever claimed that Bush II was some great President... was he as horrid as what the rabid left claims?? No... His fiscal policy and going beyond what government is supposed to do makes him a mediocre to poor president

Obama continues most all of Dubya's programs.

LOL

Including the one started by George Bush's administration , of finding and tracing the messenger for Osama bin Laden. :eusa_clap:

"The long trail to Osama bin Laden began with the arrest in 2005 of a senior al-Qaeda operative known as Abu Faraj al-Libbi. He had spent the previous two years as bin Laden’s “official messenger” to others within the terrorist group, according to military documents. And now, Libbi was being turned over to the CIA.

"The resulting interrogation provided critical early intelligence that allowed the agency to begin unraveling bin Laden’s courier network and eventually to discover his hideout in the garrison city of Abbottabad, Pakistan, U.S. officials said.....

But even Dick Cheney gives Obammy the credit for "making the call" to take him out. That must have been hard for Hussein.
