Gut Feelings On Who Will Win?

ok tho i believe it to be true, i retract it as it WAS a cheap shot!
besides there a whole bunch of new arguments on the way. its so close its gonna be a lawyers party til janurary

and you're happy about that?

That is beacuse elements of the Truth are painful to accept.

Kerry will win the popular vote, Bush will either get the electorial or hijack it again.
Not too difficult to see the pattern developing,
That is when you know Democracy is in trouble, when the electoral arena becomes increasingly confusing, corrupted, and manipulated.

We are seeing this in news reports accross the country, mostly tageted at blacks democratic regions.
Phone calls telling Kerry supporters to go to the wrong locations.
missing ballots in Folorida's democrate county.
Voter challenges.
letter telling voter they will be arrested for child support.
Letters telling democrate voters to vote on diffrent days.

I'd love to be able to dispute that last part of your statement. Sadly, I cannot.

For the sake of the country, I hope that kerry is soundly defeated. But if kerry were somehow to manage a victory, I hope that it is solid enough that we don't drag the entire nation through another Florida episode.

like the last time when the republican dominated supreme court awarded Bush the presidency, despite him losing the popular vote :alco:

When you have a clue about how our system has worked for the last coupla hundred years, then comment. We do NOT elect a president based on POPULAR vote. We are a representative republic. Not a democracy.

And I guess you skipped over the headlines about democratic foul play? Oh, that's right, they probably don't publish that over at moveon.

Your implying that Bush stole the 2000 election is growing tiresome. Why is it that you only post things that cannot be backed up factually, only by your warped opinion?

the popular vote would cause the candidate to totally ignore the rural areas of the country. You know, the areas that raise the food we eat, that work hard for little pay and that should have equal representation with those in the cities.

If we were to elect a president based on the popular vote, the candidate would only have to worry about a handful of states. Places like Texas, Florida, Californai and New York.

If you take out NYC and LA, Bush won the popular vote by over 1.5 million votes in 2000. Would it be fair to let a few cities decide the outcome of the nation? NO!

good quality post but popular vote is still most reflective of the wishes of all the people in my opinion

I think it is still too close to call. It all depends on who gets FL and OH, and right now it looks like OH might go to Bush, but FL has recently started sliding over to Kerry.

But we should remember that first time voters and those that only use cell phones are not getting polled, which makes up the youth vote that will go for Kerry. So even these polls aren't reliable.

Polls also don't include a lot of military, which is predominately Bush. I agree, though, the road to the White House will go through Ohio. I'm just glad we're finally having the poll that counts.

To clear the air for those who do not know....the US is not a democracy, nor was it ever set up to be a democracy. What we have in the US is known as a republic. Maybe do a Google search and educate yourself what our system is all about.

A. Vote at all. 18-24 is the lowest voting block...

B. Vote for carrie... Why should young voters be socialists?

I believe you are wishfully relying on a notoriously poorly voting age group...

Do you like to read? If so, read the book "The Future of Freedom". It does an excellent job of pointing out WHY a true democracy is NOT good. Look at India. The world's largest democracy has so many problems because they decide EVERYTHING on a popular vote.

The problem with true democracies is that it puts the power in the hands of special interests.
