All right folks, I searched around like this email said to do and this seems legit but I'm still not convinced it's true. I pray to God this is not true. Below is a copy and paste of said "Bill's. Tell me someone this is not TRUE?????

Federal law requiring disclosure of all guns on your tax forms

Below is a back-door federal approach to national gun registration. It will
be passed administratively and won't even require a vote by Congress.

Remember, the socialist takeover CANNOT succeed without disarming the

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form
all guns that you have or own. It may require fingerprints and a tax of $50
per gun.

This bill was introduced on Feb. 24. This bill will become public knowledge
30 days after it is voted into law. This is an amendment to the Internal
Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee can pass this
without the Senate voting on it at all..

Congress is now starting on the firearms confiscation bill. If it passes,
gun owners will become criminals if you don't fully comply.

It has started.
Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the
House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of
2009.

Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because the government is trying
to fly it under the radar.

To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or
Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You
will get all the information.
Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a
clip or ANY pistol unless:

-It is registered
-You are fingerprinted
-You supply a current Driver's License
-You supply your Social Security #
-You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their
choosing
- Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be
reported and costs $25 - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right
to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.
- There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a
child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child
under 18.
-They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun
safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to
5 yrs. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many
options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are
becoming aware of this. Pass the word along.

Any hunters in your family, pass this along.


This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and
disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a
little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes
it.

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not.

If you take my gun, only the criminal will have one to use against me. HR 45
only makes me/us less safe.

Don't know if it's true or not BUT it would not surprise me if it was true. You know that the government is going to be coming after guns before too much longer. It's the socialist thing to do and we are becoming a socialist country very quickly. It's past time for people to begin to start standing up and say enough is enough.

Well, nothing comes up under open congress or thomas.gov when I put in that senate bill number. As far as the house bill, it makes a couple of misstatements. First off, there's a clause excluding guns that are already owned, as I read it. I see nothing about requiring the SS number or driver's license. It does require some form of ID and the address. The "you will submit to a mental and physical evaluation" thing is pure crap - that's appears to be a twisting of a clause that says that in order to get a firearms license, the applicant must sign something releasing any such records to the state (in other words, background check - not thrilled with that clause as it doesn't really define what that's used for, but it's not the same thing as evaluations on demand). The $25 dollars appears to be the maximum amount they can charge for a license. I don't see any fee for a transfer. The child access part simply amends a pre-existing code. I don't know if that code has lockdown requirements, but this one doesn't - it says it's unlawful for people to "recklessly" allow access to firearms to children, then further defines to say that doesn't apply if the gun is in a locked cabinet, if the owner is a peace officer, if there is no reasonable expectation of a child being on the property where the gun is, or if the child uses the gun in self-defense. The part about the up to 5 year prison penalty appears to be accurate, but inspections appear to only apply to commercial dealers.

That's my reading anyway. Can't find the Senate Bill referenced, which is odd if it was already introduced.

Sorry, one other thing. It doesn't apply to all guns. It does apply to all handguns and semi-automatics that can accept a detachable ammunition feeding device. I don't know enough about guns to know how much that covers. Antiques are excluded. On a personal note, I assume a WWII Colt .45 counts as an antique?

Yeah that is what the intent was but no matter, I heard this was killed but it's something to keep an EYE on. That's why we couldn't find it when we searched.

Try snopes.com to check the validity of the e-mail. I would need to know the exact title on the e-mail. Generally you see these end run type of bills and riders on a fairly constant basis. Especially now after the Supreme Court ruling concerning DC handgun laws, 9/10s almost all legislators are gun shy (no pun intended). This will in all likely hood never get out of committee.

I am a pretty staunch supporter of the right to own and bear arms. Got this same e-mail. Checked for activity on it as well and couldn't find a thing.

Of course its true, you don't honestly believe that the perps are going to let you keep your guns do you. Such legislation will make it easy for the perps to take their guns away from you, its the first of many steps that will ultimately lead to having no guns full stop.

For all the bull you hear from Americans most will hand over their guns when ordered to do so. Yes there will always be the die hards who hang onto theirs but even they will be hunted down eventually.

You cannot have a fascist nation with the people having the means to fight back, first steps in a dictatorship, remove all the weapons and then remove all the opposition. A well tried and trusted method as seen many times in the past.

Over the past few months, NRA-ILA has received hundreds of e-mails warning us about "SB-2099," a bill that would supposedly require you to report all your guns on your income tax return every April 15.

Like many rumors, there's just a grain of truth to this one. Someone's recycling an old alert, which wasn't even very accurate when it was new.

There actually was a U.S. Senate bill with that number that would have taxed handguns -- nine years ago. It was introduced by anti-gun Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), and it would have included handguns under the National Firearms Act's tax and registration scheme. This has nothing to do with anyone's Form 1040, of course.

Fortunately, S. 2099 disappeared without any action by the Senate, back when Bill Clinton was still in the White House. We reported about it back then, just as we report about new anti-gun bills every week. Now, it's time for gun owners to drop this old distraction and focus on the real threats at hand.

And by that reckoning? Any Law that requires Registration, IS an infringement. It's frankly none of their business.
