Guns questions - again

The concealed carry laws do not apply to open carry. You can carry a weapon openly anywhere in Texas not otherwise prohibited by local ordnances or state laws.

Okay! Now I get it! Thanks. For your patiance.

From one thing to another...

When would you considered a gun to be "in use"?
Concealed?
Mentioned?
Shown?
Aimed?
"Unsecured" (?)
Fired?
Fired for effect?

Shown would depend on how shown. Aimed and firing would be "in use."

There is no difference in "firing" and "firing for effect," IMO. If you draw a weapon, be prepared to use it and if you use it, use it right.

I think the same. Shown if the reason is threat or intimidation. (ie A guard walking around with a weapon is already using it.)

It's probably worth making a distinction between "carrying" and "brandishing."

Carrying is simply that; brandishing is use.
