...& overall 2008 homicides have fallen back to 2002 levels. Blunt objects, stabbing, burning, strangulation, stabbing & other means are all over the map. Notice on the chart below that the period between 75' through 95' was a virtual homicidal bloodbath...

That sucks for the Obama Administration. I guess we need some more Federal Government subsidized gunrunning. They can keep it within US borders and just do it interstate and inner city this time. Problem solved.

In all regions, the country appears to be safer. The odds of being murdered or robbed are now less than half of what they were in the early 1990s, when violent crime peaked in the United States.
