Duh, you can't buy guns from dealers, and not more than a couple of the same type of gun from a private individual. There's very little money to be made at gun running and it's very high risk behavior. He didn't know what to buy or where to sell it (obviously). It's pretty easy to make $1000 per gun, if you know what, where/how, but that sort of thing is a small market, maybe 50 guns at a time and no more than a couple of hundred per year. So you'll have to also know something legal to do with the money you make, so that you don't have to keep on taking criminal risks for your living.
