Guess Where Coca-Cola Is Investing $4 Billion

So are you people claiming that a socialistic country is easier on Coke business than a democracy?

So you think we live in a democracy?

Do you think we have free markets?

Why would anyone invest in this heavily regulated Marxist authoritarian nanny state with union thugs controlling your business.

Coca Cola, Jack Daniel's Whiskey, Peppermint Schnapps, Tequila......mmmmmm

Longish thread but I can jump in here as some of you are starting to make sense (finally) on this very important issue.

Now, I can see mixing your Bacardi's and Jack Daniels and so forth with Coke or Sprite but not your higher shelf stuff. And I'm saying this as a big rum and Coke guy. However, with the really top shelf stuff there is only one way to drink it and that is "neat". If you just must mix it with something, try a nice cigar.

I had a girlfriend buy me a $200 bottle of Johnnie Walker (Blue Label) and she wanted to drink hers with 7up. I should have slapped her. Bogart would have slapped her. But, I just sighed and committed what can best be described as "alcohol abuse" and let her have it her way. What a waste.

You should have given her the cheap shit if she's gonna do that. Frankly, I'd have slapped her too. My bad.

Maybe if I was the one who bought the bottle.

Plus I had over a foot of height and almost a hundred pounds on her. (not easy as I'm only 6'2 and 180lbs) It was borderline assault for me to just gently place a hand on her knee during a movie. lol

Guess Where Coca-Cola Is Investing $4 Billion - Forbes

Lovely.

Who says American companies aren’t investing? They are. Billions, in fact. Only, they are just not investing here in the U.S.

Atlanta based Coca-Cola (KO) plans to invest $4 billion in China, the company’s CEO Muhtar Kent told reporters in Shanghai this week. It’s the company’s biggest planned investment in China since the 2009 investment of $2 billion. The investments will start next year and is part of the company’s China capex until 2014.

Because of your lack of understanding how businesses operate I guess you think it would be prudent to invest in additional manufacturing facilities here and then export their finished product to the other side of the world to serve the soft drink demands of China and other countries in that region.

So how competitively priced do you think Coke would be over there compared to domestic soft drink producers or other foreign brands whose management had the foresight to build production facilities there instead of incurring the additional costs shipping the stuff there?

Sounds to me like astute management making the right moves in order to be competitively priced in a gigantic market with enormous potential.
