I agree with mani and del about the Miracle on Ice being #1. It pulled an entire country together, with EVERYONE rooting for the same team, the USA.

The Sox coming from behind 0-3 games to beat the Yanks 4 in a row should be #2 imo.

Maybe we could rank them all?
The Red Sox winning wasn't an upset, they had a better team then NY did.

I agree. In order to have an upset, the winning team has to be the underdog.

In the 2004 playoffs, the Sox were not an underdog as they were essentially equal to the Yankees.
 
Sox had (and still have) better pitching.

Another huge upset not mentioned was the 1969 miracle Mets beating a much better Orioles team. That one was unreal.
