"Military Men Are Just Dumb,
Stupid, Animals To Be Used
As Pawns In Foreign Policy"

Henry Kissinger.

Before all you military hopefuls sign up on the dotted line for a glorious career slaughtering brown faces in foreign lands you might want to do some research on the effects of the ordnance you'll be expected to let loose on those unwitting goat herders.

Now if in the U.S, you were to expose or place a single ounce of depleted uranium 238 dust in a public place, the full force of a heavily armed and hyper-exhilarated homeland security squad would descend upon you like a ton of bricks falling from above. You would be bundled, then shackled, hooded and eventually tortured while mothers, children and old men with delicate heart conditions in the vicinity of the incident receive counselling for stress. Simultaneously a team of specially trained biohazard experts would carefully approach the hazard zone in sealed suits containing independent air supplies and remove every last trace of the harmful material before the public are even allowed within a five block radius.

And those emergency services would be right to act so cautiously, with such urgency for this is a devastating substance, sourced from the heart of nuclear reactors, which in the wrong hands a single ounce could wreak havoc, causing an untold amount of pain, suffering and misery.

In light of this, consider that in the very wrong hands of Capitalist plunder over 350 tons of Depleted Uranium were used in the Gulf war and that 1000s of tones have been spewed over a massive and wide area in the current Afghan and Iraqi occupations. And not just deep in isolated desert regions but heavily populated cities like Fallujah. (see http://www.usmessageboard.com/conspiracy-theories/110513-american-genocide.html)

Children playing on A.A guns destroyed by D.U shells.

Remains of toxic bullets litter Iraq / The Christian Science Monitor - CSMonitor.com
Article reporting such incidences of child exposure.

As is the predominant attitude in this period, you may not care at all about the toxic environments being created for Arab and Muslim families to live in. So ponder instead the predicament of those who 'serve' in the many conflicts orchestrated by America, and who are themselves exposed systematically every time they fire a 'D.U' shell at the proposed enemy.

Given its pyrophoric properties a lethal contrail of uranium oxide traces its way from barrel to target. If the American invader merely breathes in a single particle (and uranium oxides are sub-micron in size) they are compromised; facing a similar nightmare an estimated 300,000gulf war veterans suffer today.
[ American Gulfwar Veterans Association]

This article will not explore the side-effects from that toxic cocktail of multiple dose experimental vaccines soldiers are given. Instead, it will touch on the dangers of America's strategic radiological warfare.

Exposure to depleted uranium shrapnel, dust and oxide particles causes a recognisable pattern of health decline. Within 72 hours of exposure to Uranium 238 service personnel become sick. First cancers starting within 8 months, first cancer deaths within 2 years. Not all those coming into contact with the toxin die in this short span, many will endure lingering, chronic symptoms over longer periods, depending largely on the amount of particle penetration into their bodily systems. Symptoms include respiratory ailments similar to asthma followed by 'reactive airway disease' where a feeling of drowning accompanies any activity, sleep problems, mood swings, upper and lower respiratory ailments, neurological /psychological problems including memory loss, chronic fatigue / immune dysfunction syndrome, skin rashes unusual hair loss, aching joints, headaches, abdominal pain, sensitivity to light, blurred vision, menstrual disorders and amongst other things birth defects in children who’s parents were exposed. Cross contamination of service personnel's families and doctors is another problematic aspect of this phenomenon.

Gulf War Syndrome and Depleted Uranium: Dr. Rosalie Bertell
( Gulf War Syndrome, Depleted Uranium and the Dangers of Low-Level Radiation by Dr. Rosalie Bertell )

Approximately 1/3 of the Allied forces engaged in the Persian Gulf war suffered adverse health effects yet still haven’t received the medical care advised in 1991.

"Veterans of the wars in the Gulf, Bosnia and Kosovo were been found to have up to 14 times the usual level of chromosomal abnormalities in their genes". (from this article: Gulf veteran babies 'risk deformities' | Politics | The Observer)

Approximately 30% of US troops in the current conflicts have developed serious health problems (including mental) within 3 to 4 months of returning home.

there can be no overestimation of the grave seriousness America's criminal use of depleted uranium represents. History will judge these invasions as even more despicable than the Vietnam conflict, and more pernicious than those cowardly sneak attacks on the civilian populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki ( see http://www.usmessageboard.com/religion-and-ethics/76591-the-greatest-thing-in-history.html#post1217121 ).Because Uranium 238 has a half life of 4.468 billion years endless generations of grossly deformed Afghan and Iraqi infants will be testament to the cold, heartless indifference from the combined proletariats of Allied nation citizens which bankrolled the wars through their taxes then looked the other way while a whole people were contaminated.
For these are a truly cursed people.

Future generations will look back with a shock and horror that accompanies the witnessing of Holocausts, and marvel at just how raw and primitive, the evil which emanates today so richly from the twisted and corrupt branches of American Capitalist Imperialism really was

Pictures removed due to graphic nature and disingenuous correlation to the subject. CW

A few of the many hudreds of horribly deformed infants being born after American D.U bombardments of their parents cities.

Hey now as Americans we are not allowed to talk negatively about our Aresenal of Freedom.
We liberated those people from Sadam. What more do they want?

First of all, your whining is pathetic. You are not censored as your link works fine.

Secondly, your link provides no evidence that any of the birth defects shown were the cause of DU. None.

Some of us have a good idea what true censorship is, right Jaaa? ;)

I suspect that the depleted uranium we're using is going to come back to bite us in the butts.

This will likely make the agent orange problem seem quaint by comparison.

One hopes those boys who are now enjoying their tax free combat pay are putting aside money to deal with the various ill health outcomes they can expect.

And I can't imagine what the long range effects will be on those whose homes are in the midst of this pollution.

Ten or twenty years from now when the people in former war zones are dealing with cancer rates and birth defects then we'll all pretend that we had no idea that was possible.

We'll write them off as unfortunate collatoral damage and move on.

Unless one injests or keeps DU in constant contact with their bodies, it is relatively not dangerous. It emits alpha radiation which loses any dangerous energy after 1 cm from the source. It can be blocked with a page of paper.

I say it is not relatively dangerous, compared with alternative alloys that have been candidates for munitions that require such density, it is the best alternative. All the alternative alloys are much more toxic.

As far as dust is concerned, U is so dense that it will be one of the last particles that would be airborne during wind.

Just for starters in the DU debate.

Si modo, in Post# 4 says:
Secondly, your link provides no evidence that any of the birth defects shown were the cause of DU. None.[/

My opening post caried 8 links, each of which either shows the devastation of United States use of Radiological devices on civilians or the medical results of exposure to toxins and radioactive particles. But like a lazy child Si modo doesn't bother to follow links before commenting, simply reacting to issues; guessing and assuming about subject matter in blissful ignorance. As if such input represents meaningful contribution. When America empties thousands of tons of its nuclear waste onto a people that then suffer obscene deformities this in itself is proof. However for the blinkered there can never be enough proof, as one would expect from an individual who like a fool, fails to hold dear the value of free expression or recognise the insidious face of censorship.

editec, in Post# 8 says:

This is very true, and says something very pertinent about the moral countenance of those nation's corrupted masses which made up the Allied invasion forces as well as all subservient parties.

Si modo in Post# 9 says:
Unless one injests or keeps DU in constant contact with their bodies, it is relatively not dangerous. It emits alpha radiation which loses any dangerous energy after 1 cm from the source. It can be blocked with a page of paper.
Again in my O.P. I explain how very easy in is to become contaminated by D.U. yet Si modo doesnt even bother to read a thing before offering opinions.

There are according to U.S military briefings 3 main methods of contamination: 1. through 'wounding by shrapnel'. 2. Inhalation. 3. Ingestion. (either the slow leaching through water supplies which remains present for years or from consuming food sources, both plant and animal that have been contaminated in their natural environment

To suggest D.U is a harmless substance is most irresponsible. D.U emits from 60-75% the radioactive content of purified uranium and produces Alpha, Beta and Gamma particles which penetrate cells, destroying their structure causing cancer and ultimately death. Need I point out that the pathways of the Human respiratory and glandular systems are not coated with 1 cm of paper?

Si modo also anounces:
" As far as dust is concerned, U is so dense that it will be one of the last particles that would be airborne during wind. "

But not quite as dense as Si modo. According to Dr D Rokke, former head of Pentagon Depleted Uranium Project. Military officer since 1967, Desert storm. 12th preventive medicine, Theatre Public health department, nuclear / biological / chemical warfare special operations team:
"Post explosion Uranium 238 shrapnel, particles and oxide surrounds the impact area for about 25 metres. The depleted uranium dust will settle in 30-45 minutes but Like talcum powder the particles once agitated (re-suspended) become airborne and are suspended and spread in the atmosphere (during which time they may be breathed into the lungs), until eventually they come to rest." [after which the process will be repeated]

Dr Rokke appears in this video:
Depleted Uranium 2 with Doug Rokke and Hesham Tillawi

It doesn't take a genius to realise this dust will contaminate far and wide from the kill zone until the whole world is spoiled and everybody in it is cursed with the reproductive nightmare it causes, the images of which are too graphic apparently, for the delicate eyes of readers here.
