On a hill
While we are talking about movies...how about movies you remember that you have seen that you thought was great, but no one ever really talks about.

First off....Rumble Fish, Francis Coppola.
One of my favorite movie lines..."you know...if you're gonna lead people, you have to have somewhere to go"

I'm kinda like a nobody (sheesh) but one of my favorite all time movies was.. Great Expectations.. the 1946 version starring John Mills and Jean Simmons.

I'm still a fan of the movie scarface (^^^) but 2 others that I've always really enjoyed are Star Ship Troopers and The Warriors. No one ever seems to remember them.

Also the original Planet of the Apes starring Charlton Heston is still one of my favorites. I bought the DVD sets when they we're released again.

I rented this movie about 10 times when the Video Store manager asked me why I didn't just buy it? She ordered it for me and it was the first movie I owned of what is now a movie collection now numbering into the 100's. The Jazz Singer remains one of my favorites and most people have never seen it:

Oh Gran Torino. Too conservative and un-PC I guess to receive much attention from the media or any accolades from Hollywood, but I agree. The best movie of the last two or three years for sure.

Invaders from Mars (1953) .. Freaked me out as a kid....

That and school drills on....hiding under the desk from an... ATOMIC BOMB...

On the cell so a link would be troublesome. Been awhile since I pimped Pekinpah(sp)'s classic The Wild Bunch

Starship Troopers?
Scarface?
Gran Torino?

I thought this was a thread of movies no one remembers....

And FTR, Gran Torino was an average movie and Starship Troopers was a pile of dog crap which should not have been allowed to use the name of what was, in fact, a pretty good book. :eusa_whistle:
