Great empires crumble

when outside races infiltrate the original population.

Rome, Britain - America next on the list.......

Your statement is as wrong as it is simplistic. It is also wrong because of its simplicity. Try actually reading about the Roman empire and you will learn that from the very beginning it was made up of different races and its fall was FAR more complex then just that.

The Jews and Christians didn't fare too well under the Roman Empire. Something about feeding Christians to the lions and destroying the Jewish Temple. The invading barbarians didn't work out too well for the Romans.

I've also heard that widespread acceptance of gays is one of the first steps to bringing your nation/empire to its last days. Most of the simple theories don't seem to pass the smell test.

Possibly the only compelling reasoning I've heard that can be summed up in a few sentences is that, when an empire becomes successful, its citizens' needs are met more easily and life, as a result, becomes less difficult. In absence of significant hardship on the home front, major sectors of the population eventually grow complacent and do less and less to prevent the corrupt from rotting out their government and economy from its core. A sobering thought in that, if there's any truth to it, every society that experiences any great measure of economic success is doomed.

Britain had so many immigrants when it fell that it had to advertise for migrant workers from Jamaica and Trinidad to do the crummy jobs, hummmm, you didn't really think this through.

The very idea of EMPIRE suggests multi-culturalism.

Leave it to a freaking CLOSET NAZI to miss something THAT obvious.

Read a book, kid.

Read a LOT of books, you've got lot of catching up to do of you ever hope to understand the nature of your world.

Widespread acceptance of gays is at least a symptom that the nation is moving toward its last days. Pursuit of pleasure to the exclusion of all else, family breakdown, loss of cohesiveness among the citizens, loss of religious belief, substance abuse, indolence, ever increasing cruelty as entertainment. We are well on our way. No nation that has ever set its national foot upon this path has ever saved itself.

So slavery wasnt a sign but letting people who love each other have rights is a sign?

Slavery, and more importantly chattle slavery where the slaves are bred and the children owned is a sign of progress not decay. If the people of the time could simply use the combine, or bulldozer, or any one of thousands of machines that we use today to perform the tasks of the past there would never have been a need for slaves. After all, at one time we used horses to pull wagons and plows. Animal rights activists consider that a form of intolerable cruelty and slavery. There was no concept of "employment". There won't be a concept of employment for many hundreds of years.

If holding slaves is a form of progress because it permitted building, farming and expansion, then certainly ending slavery is a distinct sign of civilization's progress. Slavery in the United States was on it's way to ending before there ever was a civil war. Had there never been a civil war slavery would have ended with the Industrial Revolution. The maintenance of lifetime slaves was just too expensive to continue. Hundreds of slaves were jettisoned as a result of the cotton gin alone. Those who used machines would prosper, those who relied on slave labor would fail.

Widespread acceptance of homosexuality is a symptom that the culture is being debauched. It won't survive any more than Rome survived with its celebration of drunken orgies.

Englandistan has been ruined by its muslime barbarians. How is life under sharia? I hear the Queen is being fitted for a burqa at Harrods.

No, it doesn't. The Roman Empire, for example, was pagan for the most part and intolerant of Judaism and Christianity until late in its history when Christianity became the official religion.

"Culture" and "religion," although related, are not synonyms. Also, "pagan" describes many different bodies of belief. The Roman Empire was most definitely multi-cultural. Finally, Christian Rome was LESS religiously tolerant than pagan Rome, not more. That includes its lack of toleration towards Christians the official Church didn't approve of, indeed more so than any others.

IMO, that's why we need to go to public financing of elections, to get rid of the corrupting influence of money. I believe it would cost us less in the long run and hopefully reduce apathy when people realize that our representitives have to listen to everybody, not just big donors.
